So, I have a 5x80 shaman group, and recently got a 4ret1dk team to 80 and both are ready to jump into cata. I kinda wanted to get a start on a new team before cataclysm hit, and I'm waiting for my 5 druid team till i can make them worgen. Was thinking 4 or 5 priest or warlock but not too sure how they are going to turn out in cataclysm. Anyone have any ideas for good comps for the new expansion, and why you think they will do well in pvp or pve?:D
I don't think you'll be able to go wrong with shaman...
Yeah I agree but I'm looking for another team to start leveling before cataclysm, that isn't shaman,paladin, or druid. ;)
Think less about what is good, and more about what is fun :D
My plan for Cata:
With the nurfs to Living Bomb and Bast Wave I was thinking about moveing away from fire mage in cata but then I see that Scorch will be castable on the move, has no cool down (that true?) but a 1.5 second cast, looks to be 40 yards and lol TAKES NO MANA .... Dosnt do a ton of damage but 10 or 15 mages or 20 mages can do some serious on the move dps with scorch for sure.
Lets see:
prot Pal 2 (tank and off tank)
Warlock 2 (for ritual of summoning / Pets)
Rogue (anti stealth or stealth targeting)
DK (death grip / chains of ice)
restro Shaman 7 (anti fear totems, healing)
fire Mage 22
Priest 1
Hummm seems a restro shaman is considered a high quality healer, guess Ill go with one priest for buffs and keep my 7 high level shaman totally for healing.
So I get rid of my 15 shaman that are under level 50 and make them mages.
The problem with using Shaman for DPS is they have no real range ability. Fire Mages will hit you from 41 yards, Shaman just cannot match that.
Yeah I was also thinking mages, hmm, how bad are they nerfing living bomb though?
When it explodes it only hits three targets and you cannot have more then 3 targets with livingbomb on them from a single mage.
So you can get one enemy every 4 seconds (12/3), which I guess is like a default 4 second cool down ..... but you can put out 3 in 4.5 seconds and then none for 12 seconds.
But then again you have scorch ..... 1.5sec casting time, no cool down, 40 yards, and properly talented NO MANA and CAST WHILE MOVING; not a ton of damage but multiboxing ftw!
with mages do not forget ins cast problast that atm is procing like crazy, am going to be makeing permades ill yet you know how it goes. warlocks are not doing so well atm :( fun but not doing well in pvp
