Which macros get loaded?

I'm a bit confused which macros actually get loaded for the toon. Is it the macros under the Character or the macros under the Group?

I'm assuming it's for the character, but that leads to a couple more questions. If it is the Character, then why even have macros at the group level? Can't you just include them all and just use the Character to filter what is available and what isn't?

What happens if there is an overlap with the WoW macros? (two getting the hotkey "g" which one wins and actually loaded for the toon?)

I assume we're talking specifically about WoW Macros here.

Anything assigned to the Character Set is the same as assigning it to each Character in the set. Macros are per Character, per Character Set -- that is, ISBoxer generates a different set of macros for each character set a character is in. You have them at the group level because it's much easier to manage, and not all of them are character-specific. Follow and assist, for example.

If two WoW Macros assigned to the same Character through any level (Character Set or Character) both have the Key Combination "g", whichever one shows up last from top to bottom is the one that will be activated.

What I do myself is have a separate Key Map per class with each of the spells/sequences/whatever they need as Mapped Keys with no Hotkeys. Then only characters in that class are assigned to that Key Map. The class-specific Mapped Keys are then used by Do Mapped Key Actions by my master Key Map (e.g. my DPS key will use a Do Mapped Key Action to do class rotations, instead of building them right into the master DPS key). This way I have a different macro on "g" or whatever else (though I would use more like ctrl+shift+alt+g, and not just g) for each class, and because these macros are assigned only to characters of that specific class, there is no overlap of the macros on the same keys.

Right now my "G" button does something like the following:
wrath key map -> moonkins
shadow bolt key map -> warlocks
fireball -> mages

I haven't understood how to use Virtual Keys in the past, but with redoing everything in ISBoxer I'm starting to see a point. Is a better way to just do virtual key 'Moonkins G' -> Moonkins and then define 'Moonkins G' as wrath? That would allow 'Moonkins G' to be round robin is I wanted instead, while the other classes continue doing their own thing. The problem is then I'm setting up a new virtual button for every class and spec (druid tank, druid moonkin, druid feral) and for every button (G, shift-T, etc).
