Running a DK as DPS

I am considering getting back to 10 boxing and my OT is a Death Knight. On some fights I will want to DPS with him. I am trying to setting on spec/macro alternative. My instinct is to go blood as that's how I leveled him. Some thing like this:

I haven't tested it so I will have to tweak it no doubt, but that's the gist.

I would also consider Unholy. His current tanking spec is Unholy and I really like it. There are a ton of Unholy tanking macros here, but no viable DPS ones.

Does anyone have any advice based on their experience? Blood or Unholy? Which is easier to macro for DPS?

Unholy was better to box as DPS. I boxed a Dk as DPS for a really long time. even pre IWT. It finally came down to just not being enough DPS to be worthwhile and too complicated of a rotation so I just stopped boxing him a while back.

What I'm currently using for DPS is 2 keys, 1 is to get diseases up / spread them around. The second is specials that burn off runic power + depend on diseases being up for extra damage. I based these off a pretty complex unholy rotation for raid AoE DPS. Single target DPS is still pretty solid. I pull 6-8k DPS with these in raids.

I have had the same issue with my DK. I want to get him geared and so considered running him as part of another team as dps, as said above though, his dps is really poor and so it felt more like I was 4 manning most dungeons.
Ultimately I want to tank with him but he is only at 21k health even though his defense is at 545 and so makes it hard to do much tanking with him.
Hopefullly someone will have something good for dps in this thread :P

Thanks Svpernova, would you care to post your toon's name or armory? I'm gonna try a few things out today. From what I remember I lost 40% of my dps when I went from a blood tanking spec to an unholy one, but the survivability was what I was going for anyhoo.

Currently logged out in PvE DPS gear. I haven't really done much other than drop insane amounts of gold buying this toon gear. Currently I'm working on farming up some PvP gear for him.

I am using something like this, i needed superduper macro for my raise dead ability but that could be left out

I use crl as a mod key for casting renew and shift as a mod for flash heal (Greater heal form my tank) so these keys get pressed often but not mashed on a normal dps rotation. Hence the smaller number of commas. If you handle healing differently, Dancing rune weapon and Raise dead may need to be managed differently.
