How do I quickly swap between characters to loot items, hand in quests etc?
Do i need to a use KVM switch or have an extra mouse per PC?
Until a few days ago, I had 1 main PC that ran 2 characters, and 3 other cheapo PC's attached to a KVM and 1 monitor, 1 mouse, and 1 keyboard.
All you have to do is hit the KVM and it switches control of the mouse/keyboard/monitor between the other PCs. Not ideal for PvP, but fine for turning in quest items.
You could also try Synergy, as long as you don't want to use it to adjust the camera on the alt PCs it works fine.
If you hardware box, you could run 5 pcs and 5 monitors and simply slide your hand to a new mouse and glance over to the other screen.
Synergy, multiplicity, multibox, separate mice, a "kvm" (laggy) are all viable.
