Heya, has anyone tested playing FFXI with Innerspace all on the same PC?
I plan on giving it a shot, but wondering if anyone else already went through the trials and errors.

I am almost 100% positive it does not work with IS. At one point in time it did but the compatibility has since been on the back burner since there is no demand to play FFXI.
What he said. It may or may not work, I haven't had an active FFXI account in a few years to even test with, but it worked last I tried it ;) Even if it does work, the whole playonline viewer login process might be prohibitive as far as getting into the game with multiple characters.
Ya it crashes when it tries to open up the playonline viewer, which is a terrible authentication system, probably the worst. Thats just me ranting, but I'm fiending for some FFXI :P

I know this post is a couple months old, but I have a few comments I'd like to make about multiboxing in FFXI to the benefit of anyone(else) who might happen upon this post(it's the first finding in Google for IS/FFXI)
Innerspace doesn't work due, mostly, to POL. So we can add that to the list of it's other atrocities. Fortunately, you don't need IS to box in FFXI and FFXI is actually very multibox friendly... out of the box, so to speak-- with one addition. Windower.
If you use Windower( http://windower.net ), instances of FFXI will switch control instantly, rather than have a few second delay as is normal without windower. And, more importantly, you'll be able to use a plugin for Windower called Multisend (http://forums.windower.net/topic/15086-multisend/ ) .

..., which allows you to send in-game marcros from one window to all other windows. This, combined with a robust auto-follow and built-in auto-face, auto-loot and... 'auto-maintain-melee-range-while-auto-follow-is-on' make FFXI one of the easiest games to multibox.
Plus, the level-sync system opens up interesting possibilities. Theoretically, you could level 1-75-- 99 in any zone you want, as long as you have one class in that level range.

I doubt many people here played EQ in it's heyday but if you did and still pine for it occasionally; don't try it. It's a horrible mish-mash of half completed and/or abandoned systems and wildly varying graphical quality. Try FFXI instead. It feels a lot like a Japanese version of EQ... Because that's exactly what it is.
Oh, and I don't think I quite emphasized the power of broadcasting macros to other windows from a single window in FFXI... I can play 4, and could play 6 (a full group), characters as competently as individually controlled characters using a Dual Shock controller. This is partly because FFXI allows old-school macros(/cast ... /cast. ... /cast) and because the combat in FFXI is much slower paced than in WoW.
Oh, well. Enough of my rambling. :)
