I just created new mixed team for the first time that consists of a warrior tank, mage, 2x locks (one of which will be swapped out for a boomkin around level 60) and a priest.
My main question is, is there an easy way for me to keep track of the shards on my locks and what pets should I keep out for instance farming?
Pet depends on spec, for destro I just use my imp. My shard count is displayed on my abilities, for instance, I have soulstone on my bar and on the soulstone icon it shows the number of shards.
For soul shards, consider this or a very similar macro:
/cast [nochanneling] Drain Soul
/script local p,d=PickupContainerItem,DeleteCursorItem p(4,27)d()p(4,28)d()
The macro assumes a 28 slot bag, and that it is in the far left position.
Bags are (right to left) 0 through 4.
The macro picks up the item (soul shard) in slots 27 and 28.
And then destroys the cursor item.
So you can spam Drain Soul every fight if you'd like to.
And you'll quickly reach 26 shards.
But never have them spill out of the shard bag and into other inventory space.
You don't even need a shard bag.
If you were using a normal bag, this could work too.
Just be very sure not to place important things where they can be picked up by the macro.
Get a 32 slot shard bag and you don't need to worry about it as the cap on shards is 32 anyway.
Necrosis works great for destroying the extra shards.
