just can't stop hackers
So i have a few RL friends and my brother that play also and i being a boxer have my own guild, and i let my friends in the guild and make them officers so they can use the bank and get stuff i make, or borrow gold or whatever.
On my accounts i have a authenticator of corse, but apparently my brother doesn't cause he calls me up and says "get online asap and kick me outta the guild i got hacked"
So i log on and sure enough, they took everything, thousands and thousands of gold and items stored up for my next 5 man team, epics, blues, gems, glyphs, gold, just everything they would need pretty much to jump into heroics as soon as they hit 80.
But he put in a ticket and i did too to get the bank restored, but i was wondering if anyone knows how long it's gonna take to restore everything and if they even do restore guild banks since it's not really tied to a single account.
Thanks all, i'll post what happens

Approx. 3 days.
Its happened to my guild twice.
-
do they restore guild banks?
-
they did when my account was hacked but can't remember if they gave the stuff back to my toon or put it straight in the Guild bank
-
They mail it all back to you. I was still missing a few things but it wasn't important. My new rule is no bank access unless you have the authenticator. I was on a wow vacation when the bank got jacked. Came back just to put in the ticket to have it restored.

whats been said is truth. 2-3 days, and it gets mailed back to the guild master.
i hated the process cause im ocd and had everything in the bank in a very specific manner. took me quite awhile to get it back in place.

took me almost a year to get an account that was hacked back... i guess it depends on the circumstances involved.

We had a guy hacked 2 weeks ago. His hacker was able to pull more stuff out of the gbank then he was supposed to. Blizz says they are aware of it.
Just to let you know

It's so dumb that people have resorted to hacking rather than farming to sell gold... we have only the userbase to blame... I mean, if nobody bought gold, there would be no value in stealing it. But thats never gonna stop, so, oh well.
Our guild had someone trying to steal from our gbank, he made multiple characters that had similar names to mine, with bank at the end, and were attempting to get people to invite into the guild, claiming they were me (using my real name, saying it was my bank toon) WHILE I was logged in, so its not like they used my accounts. People selling gold are getting desperate. Gold is easier than ever to get, theres a lot of competition from many gold sellers, and the prices are very low, and blizzard has hopefully been working on detecting farming bots, etc. Maybe someday it wont be so big of a problem. Maybe.
