Fire Nova Totem

Hello,

I am using a macro that looks something like this.

/castseqeuence reset=combat Fire Nova Totem,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Magma Totem,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Basically it is supposed to drop a fire Nova Totem let it blow up then drop a Magma totem. By the time I mash my way through the commas Fire Nova is off of cool down.

On a practice dummy it worked fine but in AV all it did was say invalid target and my shamans just stood there doing nothing.

If I removed the whole castsequence the Shamans worked just great.

I can only assume FIre Nova Totem tries to drop on the target you have and if they are out of range it will not work.

Does anyone have a Fire Nova Totem/Magma Totem macro that works?

The two second stun is nice but if I can't get the constant AOE from my totems working I will just spec out of it into something else.

It is weird that it would say invalid target, as you're not actually targeting anything.

I'll assume you use the correct spelling of /castsequence in the actual macro, and that /castseqeunce is a typo in the example above. However for them to do nothing, it might be that you do have a typo.

But for the macro to have worked on target dummies, it must have been entered correctly at least in the dummy area.

I would consider changing reset=combat to reset=5 or some such.
A number lets it reset to the first spell, even while still in combat.
Combat means you could be stuck on a comma, and stunned, and then the timer is off some.



I utilize three of the totem sets. A PvE set, an AoE set and a PvP set.
In addition to this, several totems/spells are on round robin.
And several are on independent drops.

I've not tied Fire Nova and Magma's together.
But can drop 4x Fire Nova, 4x Magma, 4x Searing or 4x Totem of Wrath as their own keybinds.
Of these, 4x ToW is most often used, purely for the ToW glyph bonus.
Fire Elementals are on round-robin, spam for more then one at once.

In addition to fire totems, I also have bindings for... 1x Mana/3x Healing, 4x Cleansing, 1x Mana/1x Cleaning/2x Healing... 4x Grounding... Tremor on round robin... Earthbind on round robin...

I too have similar setups. I have tremors and grounders on round robins and different totem setups for PVE, PVE Bosses, and PVP.

What I find that if I back up off the training dummy I get the same error, invalid target, and the shamans just sit there. When at point blank range the macros work fine.

I might put in a switch like /cleartarget or something before casting. I just need to tweak it a bit.

Does ToW stack is that why you use 4x?

ToW no longer stacks, but if you glyph it you all get the spell damage buff

ToW does not stack.

However, the glyph gets the shaman who dropped the ToW a 5 min buff, which is spell damage equal to a percentage of the total bonus their ToW gives.

So it is very worthwhile having every Shaman drop their ToW, as a single key.

And then using the Totem Macro button to have each drop a Fire, Water, Air and Earth.
The big buttons, which drop 4x totems at once per shaman only need to include a single ToW.
Because every shaman will get the 280 spell power, and it will debuff all of the mobs by itself.
Still you want the other shammies to drop their ToW every 5 mins or so, for a huge spellpower boost.
And then likely have only one ToW on the Big Totem drop.

A Frost Resistance is more useful then a 2nd ToW, once every shaman has the 5-min buff.
Searing Totems or Magma Totems can add to dps as well.

I figured out the problem apparently at some point I added an extra / to a castsequence so it was //castsequence which was causing the whol click train to fail.

Once I pulled out the extra / it worked fine.
