Making a new PVE 5 box team

I was originally going to run with:

DKunholy tank, 2 boomkin, 1 resto druid and an arc mage.

After minor testing and theroycrafting this looks like a bad team to multibox as the 3 deeps toons are proc watch senstive/reactive. So im rethinking and looking for some class synergy feedback from those who box other toons http://noclue-wow.guildomatic.com/fo...icon_smile.gif

Current Main PVE team is:
(LVL 80's) Pally tank, 3 ele shaman and 1 resto sham.

Main PVP team is:
(lvl 80's) Frost mage, 2 demo locks, 2 destro locks.

So after a brief theroycraft im thinking:

(59)Dktank, (19) 2 shadow priests, (19)1 holy priest and an (32)arc/frost mage.

Extras: I dont like melee toons, range casters are easier to mbox, rotational dps is easier to maintain then proc dependant dps. Target the ground aoe isn't easily viable.

/thoughts?

I've tried both casters and melee.. I was pretty sure that melee would be more annoying to mbox, but I actually prefer it. You should atleast give it a go, who knows, might give you another class or two to add in the mix :)

Can you share what the theorycrafting came up with? I would go with more mages than shadow priests. I am not sure what benefit multiple shadow priests have. Desecration should keep Torment the Weak constant which is a good thing synergy wise (on stuff that is actually impacted by torment, though if your slinging frost then that's mute) The ezmode replenishment of frost is quite insane, compared to the shadow priest.

An arcane mage can be Arcane Blast x3 or x4 and then Arcane Missiles x1. Pretty easy to macro or castsequence it, with no need to worry about procs.

Boomkins do a lot more damage with the Eclipse procs; one in a group would be ideal in that you can have two spam dps keys, one Wrath based and one Starfire based - with the addon Fur recommended in his thread which tracks which of the two to spam. Your other toons can have their dps/tank spam buttons on both of these hotkeys. Having more then one boomkin means you have to either forgo eclipse or go with both Wrath and Starfire in the macro's.

A DK is a fairly decent tank, and that's your tank in both scenarios. I find a prot pally to be a lot easier to macro, but you already have one of those on the first team with the shammies. It's nice to mix things up.

A resto druid or a holy priest (I prefer Disc) are both excellent healers. If you have a boomkin in the party, I'd lean towards the priest for additional buffs. If you don't have the boomkin, then its a rather tough decision between the two.

I'm assuming you're not too keen on warlocks or shammies, given that you already have two teams where they're the predominant dps; either class would fit in well with the new group. An elemental shammy adds a lot to a caster dps group, and a warlock has strong dps with a lot of extra's.

I would personally go something like:
DK Tank, (Disc/Holy) Priest Heals, Boomkin, Arcane Mage, another DPS...

I just made a new team going with Pally tank priest heals priest dps boomkin dps and mage
Macros where a little pain but they seem todo pretty good

Intially the extra shadow priests where to take advantage of the UnholyDK Crypt Fever(Your diseases also cause Crypt Fever, which increases disease damage taken by the target by 10%). and the shadow priests Devouring Plague I was also interested in the targetable AOE of Mind Sear similiar to stacking soc on my locks. I run with a frost mage in my pvp team so looked at arcane as a new spec to lvl and try.

Ended up going with this:

UnholyDK: Tank
Shadow Priest: DPS
Boomkin: DPS
ArcMage: DPS
Disc Priest: Heals

Mainly looking into this group as I haven't played these classes single box before in these specs and I can always tag other toons in at 80 should I want to min/max the group's dps.

Still got a long way to lvl with no RAF but at least I have the exp shldrs and chest :). Thanks for the replies and off to instance boost till they catch up to the dk lvl :).
