Anyone try 5 hunters?

I was running the more traditional priest + 4 locks, and decided to start 5 orc hunters. So far, i have to say that they are much easier to level. I have cleared all dungeons up to SM graveyard (they are L28).
I guess the question will be how well 5 hunter pets can equal one tank. So far, they do so very well and can only recall a couple fights where one pet died. Of corse, I use frost traps and engineering gadgets for cc. Time will tell if 5 pets with mend pet can equal tank+healer in later dungeons or even heroics. Right now they are all BM but may make one survival for the sleep sting and maybe one MM for True shot.
Anyone try this combo and if so, how far have you gone?

I ran 4 hunters up to 60. Once you hit strat/scholo, even level bosses and harder trash pulls hit too hard for mend pet to keep up. Having it tick for 350ish every 3 seconds is about like having renew on your pet. And you can guess how well renew by itself does at keeping pets alive when mobs are mortal-striking it for 500-1k+.

My main has always been a hunter...

For instances, lots of bears might do the job, they will all die, but they'd last longer than most.

But as has been mentioned, even with the improvements to mend pet, your pets will still get 1-2 shotted by bosses, they can only really act as OT's never MTs.

So no, not really. not for PvE at least. Even in PvP, youre still gonna struggle tbh. When a couple of well geared chars get in your face (which they will), you are in trouble, corpse runs as a MB'er ftl.

I'd say 3x hunter 1xprot pally and 1x holy/disc priest would work. But 5x hunter is fun for a while, but ultimately sub-par.
