Making sure I got it right

Hi all,



I was planning on doing RAF 1-60 for a couple toons, then contuining then to 80.

But I wanted to make sure I had this all down right, I need Jamba ( http://wow.jafula.com/ ) and I can use auto hot key ( http://www.hotkeynet.com/index.html ) to make this work right.





I use auto hot key to brodcast the key stroke to both accounts, then I use jamba to controll targeting and so on, Like with a mage and a lock, I would slave the mage, and when I press, lets say 1 on the numpad, my mage will cast fireball along with the locks shadow bolt?

Jamba has the mage auto follow and auto target the same thing as my lock, and hot key does my key presses right? simply as that?

How hard is this to set up? it seems easy enough, around 30 mins of install time, I am guessing?



My last question is, can I run all this and stream music with little to no problems? I use pandora to listen to music, and my pc is setup as follows. Windows Vista 64 Bit, 8 Gigs cosair DDR2 800 ram, XFX 4870 1 gig, AMD athalon dual core 2.2Ghz.

Correct, AHK can be used to send info to the multiple windows, Jamba does make things easier but I can not speak to it doing the targeting. Ive not used that feature as of yet as I just write focus based macros and the like. As for your hardware, it looks like it should be ok to me, but the streaming question is more about your internet connection, I run 5 WoWs and stream Hulu to a separate laptop at the same time, but I am on fiber optics so its pretty challenging for me to peak out my download speed.

I did not think about that, I could use auto hotkey, then set the slaved mage to focus on the master, and macro each spell to assist the master,

so it would be like this to cast a spell, I would just have to set the slaves focus to the master.

/assist focus
/cast pryoblast ( or other spell here. )



then can set up a macro that auto follows, and I could set the key to a letter or number and put it on the slaves action bar some where, it would do nothing for the master, but cause the slave to follow.

/follow focus



Hmm, I wonder if I could set up a auto loot with only AHK.

You've got more than enough computer to run two accounts. For targeting, on your slave character you pretty much have to use macros:

/assist (main toon's name)
/cast Frostbolt

for pretty much any spell on your slave. That's the simplest way to do it. When you start getting into higher levels (more spells) and if you add toons later, I would highly recommend the Focusless, Leaderless, Targetless setup and KeyClone.

Thanks, I plan on getting every class to 60 before my RAF runs out, so just the basic 1-9 on the numpad should hold me over for a while.



I am thinking that the basic script from here ( http://www.hotkeynet.com/wow/wow-sample-two-on-one.html ) will work fine for me.

Just a point of clarification autohotkey (www.autohotkey.com) is something different then hotkeynet (www.hotkeynet.com)

There are a lot of software (or hardware) options as far as key broadcasting goes.

In addition to this Jamba is highly recommended.
It will have the slaves mimic a lot of choices the master makes if the window is open on each toon.
You can have the slaves take the same quest choices, or dialogue. Same or different rewards from quests.
Take the same Flight Path, if both have the Flight window open.

With "Click to Move" and "Interact with Target", its very easy to target the same thing as the main, without ever leaving the main's window.
The only time you "need" to be on the slaves window, is to herb/mine or accept trades or do their own mail.

Your spells and abilities, assisting and such are controlled by in-game macro's.
There are a variety of assist methods.
With two toons you could use assist, as mentioned earlier in the thread.

Alternatively:
You can have every toon focus the leader, and have a leader key for each toon.
Your macro's can be... /cast [target=focustarget] Spell Name.
Then any toon can lead as well as any other.

You can go with assist based off of targeting, search for the "No Focus Manifesto".
Basically each toon targets the leader, and casts at the leader's target.

You can go with promoting the active toon to party leader.
And then /cast [target=party1target] Spell Name.
This method requires paging action bars, and no longer works well in pvp's, but is very easy for PvE.

The FTL is harder to set up, but quite a bit stronger then other assist methods.
While leveling, I'd personally not do it, as the set up is involved for each spell.
Once you're 80 and have all your toys, its very strong.
Assist is determined by the window you click in, and is not dependent on Targeting, Focus or a Party leader.



In addition to your assist method, you have a few choices for the spells themselves.

You can go with /cast Spell Name.
You can go with a /castsequence Spell 1, Spell 2, Spell 3
You can go with a /castrandom Spell 1, Spell 1, Spell 2, Spell 3 (2 chances of spell 1, 1 chance each of Spell 2 or 3).

You can get extremely creative with "Click Castsequences", and manage multiple spells with variable refresh times on a single button spam.



Lots of options to explore.
For me the macro's and configuration to get something to work exactly as I'd like it to, is as good as the play.
