Started last Friday afternoon and now lvl 60 !!

Hello all from Italy ! I'm new to multiboxing but an old wow player (since 2005).I started the last friday a RAF project just dual-boxing a mage and a lock to see how good dualboxing is...and guys it's awesome ! Having a lot of fun til now ! I hit lvl 60 today with both my toons (and granted a "free" lvl 50 to my old lvl 21 hunter with a grant a level ).Using Octopus.

My mage (my main) is full fire and my lock is full destruction.I simply broadcast 1 to cast fireball on my main and a /assist MAINTOON /cast Shadowbolt on my lock.The same for searing pain/scorch. Some keys are only for my mage (for novas,blast wave etc etc) and some only for my lock (like summons,soulstone...).


For now i have this little problem :

- My main problem is facing.For now i use directional keys to rotate my lock when he is not facing the correct target.Is this the only way ? Not a very fast way :(


Some questions :

- Let's suppose that i want to cast fireball with my main and a scorch with my lock.How can i pass different keys to windows with Octopus ? Is this possible or i need Keyclone ?

- I'm just pondering the idea of a 4 or 5 multiboxing for doing istances.My plan is : just dualbox with RAF all the toons (like 85 days left ehehe) and at the end transfer them to 2 or 3 more accounts. Questions :

1 - Are istances viable with a 4x team with a proper tank ?

2 - Can my pc handle 4 or 5 wow windows ? Spec : Core 2 duo E8400 3 GHZ,4 GB ram and an ATI 4850 1 GB ram. Maybe with 4 more gb of ram ?

3 - What can you suggest me for a team ? I read everyone is using a 5x shammy team or 4x shammy + 1x pally. For now i have 1 mage,1 lock and 1 hunter :( I wanna die
I'm about to start a pally and another toon...Maybe a shammy ? Or another mage,lock or druid ? I'm confused :(

My little brother 5 boxes just fine with an AMD 6000 duel core and 4 gigs of ram with an 8800gt card so your pc should be fine. I would say to send different keys just place them in different locations.

Not a very fast way :( Use the /follow macro to face your slave in the right direction. Move your main to the area you want your slave to face, then hit the follow macro button and it will face your main.

Bind fireball to "1" on your main, and bind scorch to "1" on your lock, whenever you hit 1 it will cast both spells. I'd recommend casting spells on both characters with similar cast times, i.e. fireball and shadowbolt, fireblast and shadowburn.

I personally went with pally, 3mages, and a priest, and it worked very well for instances. 5 different classes can be challenging but really fun.

but uhm when running 4 or 5 wow instances using PiP, you'd find that it will lag in between PiP changes when you have the settings at max.

disregarding financial status, why not just start with 5x now? seeing that you're really happy how things are going, imagine multiplying this by 5x! heh. unless these "2 or 3 more accounts" are old accounts?

Mmmmm the problem is just money....3 more accounts are like 90 euro....maybe i can start with 2 more accounts...do you think 1 pally + 3 dps/healer will be capable of doing istances ?

1 pally + 3 DPS = i'd think they'd be capable of doing all normal instances :)
1 pally + 4 DPS (no healer!!) = very capable of doing all normal instances within the proper level range up to UtK in quest greens.
that's in my own experience. i say until UtK because, the only stumble ive hit when wearing quest greens without a resto shammy is ingvar the plunderer. prolly can't be down til a few levels later or speccing one shammy to resto or getting a bit more gear for more avoidance for the pally and more dps for the shammies.

I'm thinking something like :

1 pally tank + 3 shammy (1 healer)

or
1 pally tank + 3 druid (1 healer)

Boomkin dps should be higher than shammy but surely lesser utilities for the party...what do you think ?

I just wanna do all the istances (from lvl 1 to 80) in normal mode.

Ok,i started 4-boxing a pally and 3 shammy ! :) Lvl 8 for now... i will update this with my advance/problems

woots! gl! nothing against updating here but try twitter :) easier for me (and maybe other ppl too) to follow.

Never used it...i will try.Lvl 14 for now...i have to set up properly my healings and i think i can start rfc :)
