It depends on wether or not you do the learners. I have a 'blank plan' that says 89 days without or 57 with learning skills, a bit less if you optimize your attributes. Can easily be done in 50 days if you we're willing to cut corners (I include Drones V and Warp Drive Operation III in my plan).
Edit: I think it takes about 3-4 million skill points for Exhumers? (This is a guess...) So that would cut the 50 days down a lot more, possibly to just over 30 days. With a buddy trial from your 'main' you'll get 51 days 'free' plus 20 Euros to transfer a character. Thus making a decent mining alt is only down to the transfer cost. Pretty cheap!
At work atm, but there is a program which lets you select the fastest route to a certain skill with a new character. This way I had my newbie alt in a Freighter in 32 dayish. Granted the alt is as slow as hell, but he has the space.
Here is what I get for a bare minimum Hulk. The only modules I deem mandatory are tech 2 strip miners and a Veld crystal. You could start mining As soon as you get the Hulk, but I'd be training to be able to use the crystals ASAP.

Almost 4 days saved from an overall optimization, but if you are willing to use both, you can try and bunch up all the Int/Mem Skills first and then remap for the Perception/Willpower ship stuff.
Implants will save you 9 days 11 hours with +3 in all but Charisma.

Oh, one thing to note, the double SP is until you *start* a skill that takes you over 1.6 mil SP. This was changed in the 1.1 patch and the reason I can't open anymore petitions. I have not tested this since 1.2, but saw no mention of it the patch notes. This means you need to be creative when approaching the threshold. I prefer to fall just short, and use a level 1 skill to cross over. Worst case is if you were at 1.1 and start to train a 512,000 SP skill. You would train the *entire* portion at 1x since when it completes you will be over 1.6 mil.
Personally I think the whole thing is the worst way to handle it, but better to plan around it than get stuck with it.

Currently have 1 retriever workin towards hulk
2 accounts workin towards retrievers then hulks.
and 1 account workin towards cov-ops.
If I can get my laptop to run 5 accounts I'll pick up a 5th and run a hauler.
Only thing I would consider adding to that plan is drones - 5 mining drones will increase your mining amount and a hulk can carry 5 light drones as well so you can swap around when rats turn up. Ifyour hauler can fit a salvager as well then you can grab the salvage while you're hauling.Quote:

Yea. I use drones, but this was a fast and dirty, I want a Hulk and then I'll get other stuff plan. I'm actually finding that if you are using more than one character its bad to have the same plan for them all. I've stalled one to focus on refining since having someone that can mine the exotic stuff, even if in a retriever is better than having the MErcoxit blow you up.Quote:
