4 DK's 1 Priest Update

This is for anyone curious about a combo of 4dk's and a healer.

My team is now lvl 77 and they have cleared: The Nexus, Utgarde Keep, Azjol-Nerub, Ahn'kahet: The Old Kingdom, Drak'Tharon Keep, & The Violet Hold.

These are the specs I followed. Two of the DK's are Unholy/Blood. One of the dps is more Blood/Unholy. My tank is Frost. My priest is speced deep holy/disc. I swapped a few talents on 1 unholy guy for the desecration talent. I really like it for keeping stuff slowed down while I attack it. The new patch will change the auras and I have to figure out a new spec. Right now I have all the auras + group buffs for each tree.

My main heal macro on the tank is:

/cast [mod:alt,target=gamay] Guardian Spirit
/cast [mod:shift,target=gamay] Prayer of Healing
/castsequence [target=gamay] Flash Heal, Greater Heal, Binding Heal, Prayer of Mending, Circle of Healing

I have been testing this to find the best healing spam for my tank.

So far I have been very happy with the group. It has been a learning experience trying to keep the melee in range of the target. Sometimes the mobs like to move out of range so you have to adjust to get your team in range. My other pve group has 2 res capable classes. I really really miss that with this group. Only having 1 res sucks when the priest dies. Thats one disadvantage to this group. The dps seems very strong vs my mage dps group. I am going from single target dps to focus target + dk aoe. The aoe from the dk's really burn stuff down faster than going 1 by 1. If I used hotkey or IS my mages could blizzard trash. That would be nice and one day I will set it up.

My first Pve group uses a prot pally tank. After using both the prot pally and the dk, I have to say the pally is the best boxer tank. The dk is nice but the pally has skills that trump the dk in tanking. I mostly use an aoe cast sequence on my frost tank unless its a single pull or boss with no adds. The aoe sequence is very nice. I really dont have to use death and decay to hold aggro. My other teams healer is a druid. Its odd going from spamming my hot sequence to waiting to cast a heal. Overall the priest is a nice healer for the team. I like the druids hots, but I think the priest edges the druid out in 5box healing. Both can work but I would say the pally is the best tank and the priest is the best healer for multiboxing.

There is a large learning curve still to come. Once I start trying heroic instances the curve should take off like a rocket. I am playing in easy mod right now. I hope once these guys are geared up for lvl 80 the rest of the instances become easy mode as well.
