EQ2: Account Management
Hey,
Have been thinking about this for a while - basically, "What is potentially the best way to set up 6 accounts so I can achieve the most number of valid combinations possible" - and I think I may have a solution which is close-ish. Would really appreciate your thoughts on the following (classes listed in no particular order):
- Account 1 - MTs
- Guardian
- Bezerker
- Paladin
- Shadow Knight
So basically have 1 of all the heavy tanks available in the game
- Account 2 - MHs
Each of these healers can do a fine job of being MH
- Account 3 - OHs
Again, all strong OHs
Only issue with having the fury and warden split across the 2nd and 3rd account is I am unable to play say a fury with an inquisitor, etc.
- Account 4 - DPS1
- Troubador
- Swashbuckler
- Brigand
Placing the melee classes with the spell-caster friendly troubador as there's a good chance they won't be in the same group
- Account 5 - DPS2/Utility
Same reason as above, melee friendly dirge with the spell-casters
- Account 6 - DPS3/CC
- Illusionist
- Coercer
- Necromancer
- Conjuror
This is probably the hardest account to figure out. I have placed the necro and conj here which potentially gives me a DPS grouping consisting of say a lock / troub / necro - but I can never have CC (which I am assuming won't be needed in a DPSing / AOE group)
4 classes have been ignored, namely:
- Brawlers [Monk and Bruiser] as they are better suited to OTs
- Predators [Assassin and Ranger] - shocking to multi-box...s h o c k i n g - d o n o t d o i t - the mixture of attacks from stealth and range requirements is honestly hard to manage via boxing (yes, I do actually box an assn when I want my eyeballs to bleed)
To maybe provide a few options, a fury could be added to the 2nd account and a warden to the third. Could also split the necro and conj across the 2 bard accounts. Having the 4 characters per account may make leveling up easier (i.e., 4 full groups whilst leveling) without having to worry about mentoring.
The beauty of only having the 4 characters per account means I have a lot of free spaces should I wish to try say a 3 'lock grouping or some of the more odd-ball type combinations. Also, plenty of space if I ever want to try having an OT.
Any thoughts?

I haven't really gotten high enough to know what is optimal yet. My second group is Brawler {my husband has an SK at 70 he'll swap in later}, Mystic, Templar, Illusionist, Conjuror, Troubador. We really like all the pets we get with that combination, +mez, charm, stuns, stifles and dazes all over the place. Seems to be working well for us so far.
I guess it would really depend on the rest of the group. My husband loves his SK for tanking. Since that's not the optimal defensive tank, I can see encounter-wide mez and single target mez as being a bigger bonus to us than extra damage, since SKs put out some nice damage on their own. Someone who prefers a Guardian or Paladin might prefer more damage since those are defensive tanks that don't dish out as much damage but can take a bigger beating.

its interesting
my wife (khatovar) and i have started to think about how to manage our toons accross our accounts. Leveling up is so fast with recruit a friend we will likely have 3 leveling teams when we are done that we can mix and match between. Originally i was going to keep accounts by class type...
account 1 - tanks - shadowknight bruiser berserker
account 2- MHs - Templar Inquisitor Fury
account 3 - Healers 2- Mystic Defileer ??
the other 3 accounts a mix and match of dps/cc classes. honestly its a bit rough trying to come up with an ideal combination for each account. i think the first 3 are pretty much staple. one tank one healer one healer that casts wards. the other three... i think we will spread them a little moving forward... one account has a necro and another a conjurer.
We are liking the illusionist troubador conjurer trio we run with our bruiser (for leveling) templar and mystic. the buffs that we stack are really making the 3 pets sick (as well as the bruiser). I am going to park the bruiser at 51 and mentor down my shadowknight though. love the SK.

Can see the way your going with the pets - be very nasty with a fair amount of extra damage coming from all corners - with the addition of an SK, the group will do some serious spell cast DPS - so what is your planned end group?
Re the accnt setup - just basically trying to avoid the situation where I may go in the future 'Dam - wish 'x' was on the other accnt then I could have done 'y''
Pretty happy with the MT and the 2 healers accounts - just the 3 DPS are a little flakey, mainly because assassins and rangers don't box well which is leaving a bit of a hole in my plans
Already have the 1 full group to cap and am currently leveling two more FGs to 80 (bit of fun swapping them around at the same time)
If the predators where ok to box I probably could make the DPS similar to below:
- DPS1
- DPS2/Utility
- DPS3/CC
Putting the swash and lock with the CC as there's a good chance if I am AOEing I won't be CCing - specially with the patch preventing mobs from taking damage when mezz'd, etc.
Just a shame with the predators so I might have to double up on brig's 'n swash's instead - just was hoping for more variety
