Specs for my laptop kinda choppy

Hi there... just wondering if its just because its a laptop or beccause its a few yearsold...

its an aspire 5672wlmi with a core dueo processor t2300 (1.66ghz 667mhzfsb 2mb l2 cacche...

Ati mobility radeon x1400 512k

1gb ddr

I have two copies of wow loaded and in either one im never usually able to get more than around 40 fps bbut with both loaded its kinda choppy and I even set the second one to have like almost noting loaded and low rez....

Anyway... let me know what you guys think or any advice to smooth it up :)

You need another gig of ram. The proc and video card aren't that bad though.

try turning off the special effects, and maybe dial down the view distance.

ram is cheap, so that would be your best bet.

my old laptop has 1G, 1.5GHz single core and only 64M of grfx memory.. yet it can run 3 if i want (24fps... 2 is friendlier)

but that wasn't always the case. i had to remove unneeded crap and strip it down.. still, it wasn't enough. i had the latest drivers... as far as i could tell.. but they just dragged.

then i found this:

after installing that driver, my laptop was reborn. definitely works 100% better then before.

Yeah this is great advice, i am currently using these drivers on my laptop :) I should update them... hehe.. but thanks for this recommendation :)
