.....do I need to get for my toons before I can start using my 71 DK to group with them and use the RAF exp. bonus. I tried a test usingmy 50 rogue and a level 1 mage on my RAF account and was only getting 1exp per kill and they were grouped. I understand I can tag it with the RAF accounts and then kill it with the DK, but I thought u could group all 5 together and use the 3x exp mutipler. Am I wrong? 8| Group is going to be 71DK and 4 shamans.

For the lower level character to get the bonus when grouped with a higher level character on a linked account, the mob needs to not be gray level to the high level.
How many levels this means varies by level, but a maximum of 8 levels should be enough i think, so when your toons hit lvl 63 or so they could group with your 71 and get the bonus, except the bonus ends at lvl 60.
To group your 71 with them and them to still get the bonus, the 71 would have to be on an account that is not linked to any of the low lvl ones.
lvl your lower toon doing quests to lvl 10 at the min. preferably 15, then hit your instance. im alliance so i head to stockades, then to scarlet monestary, then to brd, then to strat.
no one does this (mob tagging). this is such a waste of time.Quote:

How many accounts do you have? From the post I'm guessing just two. If that's the case, then you won't be able to use a high level to help and still get the triple XP. For a RaF account to get triple XP it must be in a group with another RaF character it is linked to and both of the linked characters need to be able to earn xp for the mob, i.e. it isn't grey to them.Quote:

...they long since removed the ability to do that using RAF. People were exploiting the RAF bonus by dragging around a level 1 ghost on /follow and getting full RAF bonus XP. This is not intended.
As stated in the official RAF faq, dated 8/8/2008...

This means that if you have Player A (level 50 veteran character) grouped with Player B (level 30 RaF character) and they kill a mob that is level 32, since the mob is trivial to Player A, no bonus experience is awarded.
•If both players are present, experience gained from quests that are not trivial (gray difficulty or 5 levels below your level) will be tripled for both characters

I am so confused 8| I see people talking about boosting using instances after the toons are level 8? How does it work if the group has 1 - lvl 80 and 4 - lvl 8s, since every mob is trivial to the level 80?

Although Blizzard may change it in the future, many users who do RAF do take a higher level toon and powerlevel lower level toons through instances. If your higher level toon is 80, and your new toon is 10, then that RAF link will not be active and the lowbie will not get 3x exp. However, if your higher level toon is 80, your new toon is 10, and another new toon that is RAF linked to the 10 is in the group and withing the level range, then the two lowbies will get 3x exp. In other words, if your only RAF link is through the high level and the low level then it will not work. You will need two low level toons that have a RAF link and a third high level if you plan to powerlevel through instances (a total of at least 3 accounts).
