I am about to cancel this game. I cannot travel 10 feet in storm peaks without follow breaking.. Then I get unknown unit as my guys vanish. If this is what we can expect there really is no way to multibox unless you stay out of these zones.

I had the same problem in the Borean Tundra, some weird mist debuff, and lost /follow and had to manually move into the mist to get it to work. extremely annoying.
this isnt mist.. The characters just vanish. I can be on my mount sitting on the ground and move forward and vanish. Maybe this is Bliz way to prevent us from multiboxing. Most all the boss fights are anti boxers so I wouldnt doubt it.
That happens at high elevation areas :( it happened a lot flying around in TBC, just something to deal with ;/
I occasionally got a similar bug occur when I hearthed in TBC. 4 out of 5 characters would turn up on each other's screen, but the fifth (random toon, not always the same) would hearth normally, but the rest of the team would not be on the screen, nor would the others be able to see that one. It was almost as if that toon would hearth to a different server. They would still be able to move and interact with other players and vendors, but not with the group members. Hopefully this problem is just an occasional bug also, or at least limited to a portion of the game that won't impact genereal play too much.
Ohh I've had this happen also.
My four slave toons will disappear from the main toon's view. But they are still there, just invisible.
Spooky.
It's not a bug, it's the in-zone instance-ization. They broke up each zone into instances that load seamlessly. When you cross a line while flying you lose follow :/ Once you travel around a bit you'll find out where the lines are.
you can see data loss from time to time. multibox users will notice it befor other people. quickest way i found to fix this is to log all your toons out then back in. and yes it can happen 5 min later. but hopefully it dosent. if problems keep up to the point where you cant reasonably play. you may want to look into driver upgrades or bite the bullet and go for system upgrades.

why jump into conclusions...
it takes 2 seconds to figure it out...
didnt u ever had GY problems ? OMG! my char is here and i cant see my slaves? my slaves cant see my main ?
if u never had, then, u dont play much time tbh. all it takes is a fast relog of ur main.
it has to do with zoning. i dont recall the correct term now. when u load up a zone, sometime u may go into a different server spot, and the place is the same.
the starting areas are filled with these spots, to prevent huge loading of data at certain quest givers. it's smart, and all u have to do is pay attention.
man, u should had tried age of conan, where at every second ppl were splitted into 30 different instances of the same zone :)
This is all because of the inzone instances like Mosg2 said. Depending on what quest you are on you'll see different areas of the zone. You have to "warp" into these areas - it will break follow since you're warping. It's new to WOTLK. Ice and Storm both have a bunch of these areas. Also Dragonblight has a couple - notably one at the gate area where you get the undercity quest. It's really annoying, but it looks like something we have to get used to.
