Multiboxing DK 5 team

I have a simple question if you were by some freaking chance going to do the 5 DK team, how would you spec them?
I am not asking for specifics about talents, I am just curious if I should spec them all one talent tree? or have a spread of Blood/Frost/Unholy?
I heard that some of the runes are not up at the same time therefore its easier if they were all one talent spec, is there any truth to it? On the other hand
there are many talents that DK have that can benefit your group if you have different specs.

So whats the consensus, would you spec them all unholy and dont worry about it, or have 3 different talent spec DKs in your group.

(P.S. yes I know its dumb to have all 5 DK to multibox, I will still do it though, and melee doesn't worry me I have a 5 paladin group at 65 so I know how to pull it off).

I wanted 5 DKs. I was going to put them into blood almost fully so they could basically heal themselves. But blood's healing got nerfed a little. Then it scared me, if I had 5 warriors (although with crazy less healing), I would probably not feel safe with instances near my level. Sure if I out leveled it, it might be okay, but with 00000 healing, that doesn't seem safe. I do it on my hunters, because I have 5 pets and even if 4 of them die, no biggie. But if even 1 DK dies, I am screwed. So I am going with my 60 shammy main, and put him on an alt position and run 4 DKs. Totems might help (anti-fear, healing, str/agi, windfury, etc). A wipe recovery (self-res), AOE healing, single healing and res. It just seems like the best way to do things. It will make me feel more relaxed and have fun instead of dreading any loss or mess up. I am also not scared of melee, my shammies are melee/resto.

I'm looking at 4boxing Drenai DK's. I'll have a hordeside tauren DK as well, but I do want to box DK's for the sheer amusement of it. Any tips you have for melee boxing? What am I looking at having to do to make this work?

As far as I know, the problem with runes and boxing more than one DK is that due to some talents and such, you may get a proc which grants you more rune power on one than another. This is the same with warriors. You get more rage on one than another and you can't really sync them the same. The solution is just to hit many keys and maybe one of the DKs does nothing for one of the key presses due to having less rune power at the time, but oh well. You just do your best to keep using all your rune power in the best way you can and it'll be okay.

The main issues you'll have are going to be the fact that you'll be using melee and that you don't get a variety and buffs and debuffs that you'd get with a mixed class. Healing will also be a huge problem, as will rezzing.

To make up for the lack of different buffs, it would be better to spec in different trees, as I believe that you can get some different auras with different trees. If you do this, your macros become different for each DK because they'll have different skills. This isn't any more of a problem than having different levels of rune power. Just macro whichever skills you want to use on each guy and try to coordinate them as best you can.

if your going to try it your going to need to just make alot of macros through trial and error (god bless those attack dummies in all the capitals) how to spam as few buttons as possible so that your useing the runes and runic power effectively as possible

when i tested a single death knight i took alittle time with a frost/unholy build (i like frost for the improved obliterate that doesnt make it use up the deseases so you can effectively spam it instead of death coil) heres a little cast sequence macro that seemed to keep the dps up (even though its not that high in frost but it will probably give you an idea how to go about it


/castsequence reset=combat Chains of Ice, Plague Strike, Obliterate, Blood Strike, Frost Strike, Obliterate, Blood Strike, Frost Strike

and a good one for aoe

/castsequence reset=18 Icy Touch, Plague Strike, Pestilence, Howling Blast, Blood Boil, Frost Strike, Obliterate, Blood Boil, Frost Strike, Obliterate, Death Coil, Blood Strike

these will need alot of work i didnt test for long but i figure thats the best way around it

deathknights are alot of fun i just hope that they fixed that bug where you return back as a ghoul becuase it was causeing the 10% durability loss even in pvp

Jamba addon is great to keep you on autofollow, there are also nice macros on this site that make you continue to follow even while you are attacking with melee, you just have to spam it.

Second question I guess is, which healer would most benefit an all DK team? any thoughts?

How so? Does it not allow your groupmates to see your rune cooldowns, or what? I imagine you could handle a lot of it with intelligent macro design and a bit of key moshing...

How so? Does it not allow your groupmates to see your rune cooldowns, or what? I imagine you could handle a lot of it with intelligent macro design and a bit of key moshing...

hense why i listed 2 macros to give you the idea of how to overcome the rune cooldown problem

you can see the runepower but not the runecharges of your teammates

spamming castsequence macros seems to be the only real way to effectively play dk, which is yet another reason why i think that they would fail as a group for pvp, more to the point you can melee box pvp very effectively in the first place

i did think it would be great to have a death knight with about 3 healers and some other class that could keep snares on someone at all times like a mage or somthing would be good fun you could just stick him outside balinda and defend for hours some clever LOS positioning so that your healers are instantly targeted and you could have alot of fun, just bring along alot of action free pots, and volla unstoppable DK boxing group with just one dk :p

is the "hero class" moniker just a marketing gimmick for the expan: is the DK class a "stronger" class then the other 9? i know it's different... but you other alt-aholics know what im asking =)
