I plan on running two warlocks starting tonight. I was wondering what would be the best choice for leveling? I know the idea of doing all the quests essentially twice seems kinda lame, but I have had a lot of good experience leveling with questing. Would grinding and the addition of instance runs to gear up be the best way to go? Or would simple questing and doubling the god awful gathering quests be better in the long run?
Well, for best results, you would need a combination of questing/grinding depending on where you are in the leveling process. Im not too familiar with the game anymore, but if you have a gather quest that is a whole lot of an item that doesn't drop all that much, or the respawn rate is low, then its not worth it to gather the 100x2 items needed.
On the other hand, if it is something that drops pretty good, and the respawn isn't all that bad, then it may do you some good to grind that one out for both the kill xp and the turn in once you have all your items.
As far as instances go, I loved them and would run them as much as I could, but thats just me, not too sure how it would work out dual-boxing since I didn't know about that back in the day when I did play WoW. I think that as long as you have good support from people going in with you, and they understand what you are doing, then it should be pretty fun, and good for leveling/equipment too :D
Quickest leveling is questing + selecting the right quests in the area you are leveling in. I think a warlock + healer would level faster than 2 warlocks - you would only have downtime when you have to repair/train. Doing instances with 2 is not really effective as a way to level.
one affliction warlock has no downtime, why should 2 of them have any downtime? :)
With the updates to quests 20-60, you should be able to selectively ignore most of the collection quests that don't lead into a nice chain or loot upgrade. Buddy was telling me today that he made 41-43 in the new Dustwallow quests.
I'd suggest you look up James' alliance/horde leveling guides (google it). I use those and they are awesome. As I said, you can pretty much forget about a lot of the more painful collection quests. Also, a lot of the quests he has you skip you can do now that they are non-elites (like Stromgarde, the ogres in STV, the ogres up above TM, etc.).

With true dual-boxing I find it best to do every single quest you can find. Collection quests still aren't that bad (as opposed to 5-boxing*), and a lot of the quests you find will give group credit. This happens even more in BC, where I find my Pally getting credit for everything my Warrior does. I had to delete an entire bag of quest items because they were never used.
If your characters are unique looking and different classes you could get invited to a PUG instance group (or start your own). I've pulled it off, and the other 2-3 people never knew I was boxing. It even adds an extra layer of challenge when you talk through 2 or more characters as if they were separate people ;)
*Note on 5-boxing collections: Someone mentioned this before, and even though it is very boring/time consuming, it gives you a "grinding gauge" so to speak. If you have to collect 30 flying debris x 5 toons, then you'll really just be grinding for 5 times as long (possibly longer), which in the end balances out the XP penalty. Although, I believe anyone here would recommend instance grinding to world quests any day.
