Would more experienced folks please share Spell/Attack Rotations for 1pally X 4shamans please

I just read a very helpful post Heroic Instances, progression.

"Kulzor" was kind enough to list out how he would stage a fight. Unfortunately he seems to have a hunter and a druid that I don't have lol. I would love for someone to help me with a step-by-step guide that is similar to what I've quoted below for a pally tank & 4 shaman fight sequence as I'm about to introduce my new pally into the mix.

Kissell13 - here's how I start almost every fight:

1. Stop the dpsers in back (bunched up like they were on /follow). Drop totems.
2. Cast Hunter's Mark at first mob.
3. Launch Avenger's Shield and cast Misdirection on the tank.
4. Cast Holy Shield, cast LIfebloom on tank.
5. Cast Consecration, stack Lifebloom on tank.
6. Multishot to spread out more aggro.
7. About then the mobs get to the tank, or I wait a second or two.
8. Hit Hammer of Justice on the first mob to actually reach the tank. If the group has an MCer or Fear caster, that is the primary target, and I wait for that mob instead to reach the tank to cast HoJ. Mob must be in melee or it screws up Hammer of Wrath attacks.
9. Push "start on a mob macro." This kicks off 2-3 minute specials like Bestial Wrath and Arcane Power. On the tank it casts Seal of Righteousness. On the dpsers it starts blasting, but the macro on that button won't cast an instant spell.
10. Start mashing my primary attack macro, which kicks off trinkets, pet abilities, and spell rotations for each toon.
11. When a mob has about 4k health left, I tab to the next one and start mashing the primary attack macro again. Since the shaman and the mage are usually still casting, it lets them not waste a spell, and I end up doing more dps as a team.

Note: If a second mob is an MCer, casts Fear, or Polymorph, then I use the hunter's Intimidation to stun them for two seconds as soon as I tab to that second mob on my list. (I don't interrupt killing the first mob to tab around, but will stun them when I get the first mob down.)

knopstr - regardless of my dps types, I'd do it exactly the same, only tweaking for the minor changes in class.

#9 - "start on a mob macro" would kick off any 2-5 minute specials that enhance speed or damage for spells. Why don't I include this in my "primary attack macro?" I used to, but found that sometimes they'd kick off the special on the last spell or two before a group is dead, wasting a lot of it. But if you kick it off before even starting on a new mob, you have more control of when to hit that button.

#10/11 - "primary attack macro" looks almost identical on my hunter/mage/shaman dpsers - and also does when I rotate in my boomkin. The concept is near identical regardless of the (ranged) dpser type.

/disable sound for a moment so you don't hear constant complaining about "item not ready"

/castrandom 2-minute special #1, 3-minute special #2 (examples here include Bestial Wrath, Elemental Mastery, Arcane Potency - anything that causes a speed or damage increase for a bit, INCLUDING RACIALS)
/tar [target=focustarget,harm]
/cast [target=focustarget,harm] Lightning Bolt (or Wrath, Steady Shot, Arcane Bolt, Frost Bolt, Fireball, etc. - ANY NON INSTANT, you don't want to accidentally pull off the tank right off the bat)
/enable sound again

"primary attack macro"
/tar [target=focustarget,harm] (I do this because I like to SEE what people are attacking, it's a little freaky to glance at someone's screen and not see what they just blasted at.)
/castsequence [target=focustarget,harm] do-your-spell-rotation-here (can also use /castrandom and it works well for balance druids, arcane mages, and I'm about to change my elemental shaman to it, include both instants and normal casts)
/castrandom [target=focustarget,harm] PetSpecial #1,Claw (if you have a pet, and multiple classes do now...)

So for my arcane mage I use for primary attack:

For my elemental shaman:

The only thing I'd change with a group of shaman, for example, would be to examine totems that stack, and avoid those that don't. That wouldn't be in a spell rotation anyway - you'd want to setup a "totem drop" macro with a /castsequence on each, and none would drop their totems in the same order. You've seen people type this out many times on the boards here...

Spell rotation for dps shaman - reset on target switch - CL,LB,LB,LB,LB,LB

Spell rotation for Paladin - click cast seal, target the lowest health mob in the pull, AS, Consecration, judgement, hammer something at 100% health, hit target last target macro if first target didn't fall over dead before getting there, then mash normal 969 rotation for post 3.0

Spell rotation for resto shaman - healing wave (not bound to a key on dps or paladin)

0 - Make sure your paladin has Righteous Fury up, as you don't want stuff to start attacking your shaman
1. Drop totems (Fire e.g. for 4 chars-> Wrath, Searing/Searing/Searing)
2. Drop more totems (Air -> (pick your flavor; I usually stick to groundings on all of my guys now if I'm dealing with heavy caster based npcs))
3. Drop (yes) more totems (Earth->Stoneskin, Strength, Stoneclaw / Stoneclaw -> or pick another)
4. Totems (Water->Healing totems)

[ For boss fights, you may want to use your trinkets if you have good pve ones... then proceed to #5 ]

5. Target a pack of mobs, cast Avengers Shield + Chain Lightning (AOE from AS, AOE from CL)
6. Burn down your paladin's primary target. (I usually end up using Consecration / Hammer of the Righteous / Seal of Light / Judgement )
[ For boss fights, you may want to drop your earth elemental or fire elemental totems once the boss reaches you ]
7. Once one target is down, move to the next, and then the next.

That's about all there is to it, really.

Just a small note, on the initial pull I always LB first and follow with CL. Why? By the time LB hits CL immediately hits right after. Essentially you are frontloading a lot of damage before the mobs even have time to react. With that combo I almost instantly vaporize the first mob and have another near half dead. Your mileage may vary based on your equipment.

I'll have to try doing LB,CL,LB,LB,LB again. I would lose aggro doing it that way.

Pally taunt targets the toon who has threat instead of the mob you'd like to be beating on the pally.
On the other hand, it taunts up to three targets who are interested in eating your shaman while other tanks taunt a single mob.

I use a macro like this for my pally:

Essentially, if you target it on a friendly, it casts the pally taunt on them.
If your target is not a friendly, ie - it is the mob whom your pally is beating on and which your casters are nuking, it casts the taunt on the target's target which is likely a shaman who has over-nuked.
It doesn't matter if you have three shaman's with more threat then your paladin because the mob is pissed at whichever has the most threat, and the taunt is giving your pally more threat then that caster.

You could ditch the combat modifiers and have an exclusive taunt button. I like to cast AS out of combat and taunt in combat on key press.



For a Paladin, this is an invaluable macro:

Even on taunt immune mobs, you can click this when someone takes threat and make them immune to the mob, which then comes back to smack you (hopefully you're #2 on threat).
Again because of the 2nd part, you can cast this on a hostile and have it re-directed to a friendly.
