HORDE BOSS ACHIEVEMENT
Only 2 remain ... and one is going to be a real pain.
Killed the Silvermoon boss and Thrall with not too many hiccups (as in no wipes ;p) and then when we went to kill cairn we got rofl stomped by the guy. Horde weren't helping us by aoeing, but he does a nasty aggro dump, as well as as stun. Basically, the stun lets him kill ur healers and the aggro dump means that it takes your tanks a LONG time to get aggro back considering he resists most of the taunts. It's going to end up being a long fight simply because you need all your tanks to be above your dps on threat or you'll lose precious dps as the fight wears on. The tanks are geared in full tier 6 and sunwell gear, four or five of them, all classes (pally, warr druid). We went to kill Lady Sylvannas in silvermoon but the server reset was coming and people started to panick at about 1.5 million HP and tanks lost aggro.
Gotta say this is a really fun achievement to go for though. Much more challenging than many of the other achievements due to the absolute need to have a full raid at this point (talkin about level 83 bosses here!) and everyone needs to be geared and focussed.

man, i went silvermoon with 35 well geared pals and it was crazy... all i could do was heal, cause all my spells were MISS MISS MISS
how u do it ? a lot of melees ?

We had a full raid. Like I said the tanks were all T6 and sunwell geared. The most dps seems to come from hunters. The raid was equipped with like.. 6 of them. They were all full tier 6 as well. All the tier 6 people wear all their +hit gear (some people were at like... 25% +hit). They spread my draenei around for the hit buff, people ate hit food etc. Casters generally have a tougher time connecting spells and so does melee. I wear pvp gear so I literally spam chain heal on all the tanks while waiting for horde to come in since my spells will simply not touch a level 83. As soon as they come through the door its thunderstorm to toss em into the fray and they get destroyed. Success is pretty dependant on having some good end game geared dps.

A minor thing, but I don't believe the city bosses are really level 83. Skull mobs, specifically boss mobs, are always treated as if they are 3 levels above a player for hit table purposes. Pre patch a mob 3 levels higher could crush you, but instead of removing crushing from the game, they just changed it to 4 levels for a crush. While the bosses do have a real level behind the scenes, which is what their HP and damage is based on, they should be just as hard to hit as a boss in SSC or BT. You can see this in action by going back to MC and checking your hit and avoidance rates on those bosses.
All that said, its possible they have just flat out changed everything, but this is the way I have always understood how boss mobs worked. Anyone have any hard data on this?

%hit against a boss three levels higher than you is like.. 83% now. If you attack one of these things you will not touch it more than 1/10 casts even with ALOT of hit. There was a mage caster with literally 25% bonus hit and he wasn't hitting as the damage log shows. The hunters were the only dps doing significant damage to the bosses. The tanks were taking 5-8k hits (they had about 27k HP fully buffed ..) so there was probly crushing involved there. I'm looking for some data on it right now

Interesting. Let me know when you get the data as I really like crunching numbers and trying to figure out what is really going on.
