I too recently took the plunge and bought my epic flyers. 25K later and its been all worth it. Its been a couple of weeks and I've almost got 20K back.
It would be relatively easy to get the money to buy those, cause think of the dailies you can do, as well as farming instances, id say you could get a new mount for each person every 3-4 days.

Ya know what I think is cool? Maybe for each bear you got, someone out there got to spend that money on their OWN epic riding skill.
