spell rotation for early affliction lock?

Whats a good spell rotation for early levels? My 2 locks are lvl 13 now, and both affliction. Don't really have a lot of lock experience.

I dual boxed warlocks and this is the main cast sequence macro that I use on them.

(I'm not sure at what level exactly you get most of these spells, but you can use what you have now and add as you go.)

Warlock 1 - /castsequence Unstable Affliction, Curse of elements, Life Tap, Drain Life, Drain Life, Drain Life

Warlock 2 /castsequence Corruption, Curse of Agony, Life Tap, Drain Life, Drain Life, Drain Life

(This is a rough guess, as I am currently at work, but I'll take a look tonight and see exactly what I am using)

Keep in mind he's lvl 13, so no UA for a long time ;)

Cast Sequence:
Shadow Bolt, Shadow Bolt, Wand
or
Shadow Bolt, Shadow Bolt, Drain Life

Mobs will die too soon for DoTs to be really effective. If you pull from max distance they should die before they even reach you. And fear farming isn't a good idea at that level. I'd say spec demo for leveling. Use voids at first, later void and succubus or void and felhunter and your fel guard as soon as you can. Your pets will do more DPS than your affliction lock on normal mobs.
DoTs are awesome if the mobs have lots of HP and can tick completely. And even than a lot off Affli DPS is coming from the shadowbolt spam while the DoTs are ticking. Afflis are nice at 70 before you reach your hitcap. And they are always more fun than destro locks (endgame raids).

Agreed with Glord. SB, SB, SB ftw at your level later on this will change and you can use the castsequence suggested though I have always just thrown up Corr, CoA, Life Tap, Drain Life on both locks dont really use UA since I did not have points that far in the tree, SoC on the 70 when pulling large groups.

you should have fear at level 14 i think.
should work like a dream. i'd tweak it a little to make it match my style. and notice that the third spell is the only one without a casting time. you also may want to do corruption at the same time, if you're putting talents into improved corruption. this will keep your casting in sync. this is what i'd do. but there's many variations. Also if you dont kill it by the end of the first Fear, then i dont know...
lastly, i never liked castsequence due to many factors that happen in-game. i'd only use it to make a Fear round-robin, and that's about it. many times spells do get resisted, so to combat that, i'd use modifiers to cast. but its all up to you.

No Point in Dotting until you have instant corruption at 14. Once you get it, CoA Corruption find another mob and keep running and doing that until they die. Use Imps until you get your Succy. Add siphon life when you get it. DoT and run DoT and run is a very fun way to level.

how come you open with the shadowbolt and not CoA or corruption?

As I play a combo Paladin Prot, Resto Druid, Warlock my rotation may be a little different from a solo play, but here is what I use:

Note that I focus on dots, because as I have the tank, I take multiple mobs and go on dots, dots, dots, dots, dots, dots, dots. Normally I dont pass the UA part (I rarely use Drain Life / Shadow Bolt), so when all mobs got 3 dots, I start Wanding (another hotkey).
Also if I press SHIFT+C key, it will Shadow Bolt.

Actually doing 3 warlock and the imps really do some decent damage so I put 3 points into improved imp for shits and giggles and it actually works out well.
I usually do one volley of shadow bolts and let the imps finish the critter off ends up being 2 volleys from the imps. Thats for a critter my level.
I hit level 20 and haven't even bothered getting the other pets yet.
