RE: Leaderless setup...

I'm trying to figure out exactly how to utilize this method in combo with some other ideas to suit what i plan on doing...
basically i value having the maximum options available to me in the realm of left over modifiers for other abilities.

So after being utterly confused as to how exactly it worked i finally understand it... and i think the problem came from doing the absolute entirety of a team at once... so for those of us who coun't get that right outta the box (from the sticky or wiki) this is the best way that i can explain it.

3 toons :

1) You press 1 for Lightning Bolt on toon A (LBAT)
2) Keymap takes 1 and instead of sending 1 to the clones bases whats sent off their respective keymaps
3) Keyclone sends Ctrl+Alt+1 to toon B because thats what LBAT is for it
4) Keyclone sends Ctrl+Alt+1 to toon C because thats what LBAT is for it

Now knowing this is how it's handled by Keyclone, when i press Shift+1 i want it not to link to a map (and in theory it shoudn't assuming you don't accidentally map shift+1 as a command on another toon to something different)

If instead of sending ctrl+alt+1 you bound the macro to cast a LBAT to say ctrl+alt+/... you could technincally have ctrl+alt+1 do an entirely different command to the "active" toon and it's minions.

Which is to say you could have just as many open options to what you can use as direct binds in your normal gameplay and have a very seemless team.

That all being said, i think it's being put in a very confusing manner... instead of showing what seems like a list of different modifiers to be sent to each other set... look at it like this

Press 1 on ToonA
Map sends Ctrl+Alt+Shift+1 to toons B, C, D, E
ToonB,C,D,E cast Lightning Bolt on Toon A's target

I find building the first few macro's and getting into this system a very tedious task, so for the first macro, build it to just cast off ToonA (great to start with a healing spell), then add in the other modifier options one by one, till you get the hang of exactly how it works.

I for one am not doing this to get away from the focus method... but this allows a rather stealth way to have a target that can't be seen by other players at all. So as I'm tabbing thru targets (and yes I pass tab to confuse people) i stop on a target that i chose to be my 2nd target. Hit a command to set all their focus targets on it and tab on, now i have a hidden 2nd target... if target 1 tries to escape or can't be reached i simply start hitting ALT+1 / ALT+2 and begin the onslaught on an unsuspecting target that probably wouldn't be ready for it givin he/she wasen't being targeted by... anyone.

This idea also frontloads the time delay trying to update the new target so you can just hit a quick stopcast key and begin casting on the new target with all 4 toons and 0 delay when you choose to do so. There other options, being able to earthshock and purge without retargeting (hint it's a good idea to purge a disc priest before you turn to him) and a lot of time in the confusion they will be too focused on keeping what they think is your main target alive to see the purge... my primary target tends to be a distraction anyway... normal LB on main target... purge priest... LB main target... Charge EM/LB priest followed by NS/CL and a Shock = dead priest, hurt main target and some others on their team with dmg on em... time to finish main target and move on.

(you could even store more focus targets individually on toons as you prep for the fight (IE a mage group telling each toon their focus target and then being able to simultaneously cast sheep on multiple targets all at once having never left your primary toon screen))

... enough ranting... thanks guys for figuring this out, thought i'd try and input how to make it simpler (at least to me) to figure out
