This has been a hot (well... warm-ish) topic here recently, and is especially interesting for me because I added a pair of VelociRaptors in RAID0 configuration to my own system just as Silencer was reviewing the solid state disks.
Anyway, during today's lunchtime browse I stumbled across a direct comparison of the two and thought I'd post it here for those few people who use the search facility :)
