Lock Love
So thanks to RAF I am leveling groups of almost every combination. Of course i have the standard 5 Shammy group, a Pal/3 x mage/Priest group, 5 Hunter Group, 5 Mage group, etc. I have found my new love though, a 5 Affliction Lock group.
OMG I just thought that my mages, hunters and Shammy groups were eating up mobs. I knew the affliction tree is a true grinding (very low to no downtime) tree. What I didn't realize is how great that it would be times 5. I keep all 5 imps out, 5 x dot everything and usually one volley of Shadow bolts and everything in my path just dies. Even at level 9 I was pretty much 1 shotting anything up to 7 levels above me. Talk about sweet. At level 12 I was tearing up the Defias Highwaymen (level 18 mobs) and never once had one of them lay a hand on me.
While this new group is only 14 now I can already tell that it is goign to be my main (non-instance) 5 man group. OMG it is so sweet.

Your experience is encouraging, maybe I will try this class next.

I have the same experience with my druids. Moonfire x5 will almost one-shot stuff when the DoT finishes. Starfire absolutely one-shots anything within 2 levels of me. Wrath is about like shadowbolt.

I'm only dualboxing at the moment, and I've got 2 warlocks and 2 mages up to level 20, and I actually like the Mages a bit more, have to see how the 20s are for them.
Might start a shaman duo tonight and a druid duo sometime this week to see how all those go (and maybe even add a 3rd or 4th now that I've added some RAM)

One affliction warlock is almost like boxing, in terms of the ridiculous hardiness combined with high dps. It's kind of stupid actually, compared to how hard some other classes are to grind with.
I'm definitely levelling 4 more :p

Well my Warlock team (Zatta, Zatte, Zatto, Zatti, and Zatte) will most likely all stay Affliction. I have thought about speccing one of them Demo for Felguard but honestly while imps don't do a ton of DPS it is nice to have that extra dot (firebolt) as well as the decent mana pool once I get down to dark pack. I highly, highly doubt I will try any instances with them. But I am hopefully that they will rock PvP wise.
My holy trinity group (Gatta (Pally), Gatte (Priest), Gatto, Gatti and Gattu (Mages)) will most likely continue to be my instance running team thought I may very well move the Pally over to my Shaman Group once she hits 60.
Don't you just love all the options that RAF speed leveling grants us. Right now I have like 4 different 5 toon teams around the 30 mark that normally would have taken me the same amount of time to get one team there. ;)

Locks are crazy fun. I had a 60 solo lock in ok gear when TBC hit. She hit 70 a full day faster then my main VERY well (at the time) geared warrior. She could just run around dotting 5-6 mobs at a time up to her level, do it 3-4 time and then drink.
I keep a succy out with no abilities turned on and used her as a mana battery that can DPS and out live an imp if she gets aggro.
On my 3x lock 1x priest team I keep 1 imp and two succys out. Imp DPSs for now but when Dark Pact hits fireball gets turned off. Even now it is pretty much nonstop killing. They are not RAF enabled but will get a 4th lock added from the gift levels.

i had the oposite experie with locks, made a team up to lvl 10.. and it was taking longer to kill stuff than it did with shamen or druids... im sure that would change and i might play them more sometime.. but back to shamen now.. need pvp geaR:( need to hire 5 chinese kids to get me some honor:)

Locks win for grinding/levelling. Once you get siphon life you will never find a group of mobs too large for one continuous pull.

I know what you mean! I have a group 4 locks, 1 priest, and it is fantastic. On the go heals make it even better. One warlock being targeted? PW:S, Renew. Need some heals on the whole party? Holy nova. I can pretty much run around putting corruption on mobs and healing myself without stopping.
