When you're telling us about bugs, the name of the program and text of the error is a good start. Next, you should tell us what OS you're running, what version of octopus, what you were doing when it failed, etc.
At a glance, side-by-side errors are usually indicative of not having the support DLL's in place for things to work properly. I would go start with the Octopus guides in the Wiki and make sure you're loading what it says to load in there FIRST. ;)

My guess would be - you didn't install the VCR. It's linked in my topic post. It's side by side (as in, multiple versions of the same DLL can co-exist as I understand it).

I did insall the vcr, and I am runing the latest version of the program. 3. something f.
I am runing windows 64bit.
2x geforce 9800 GX 1gb ram
8gig ram
3ghz quad
I was just starting the program and the first msg i get up is that error msg.
Then I click ok and I get a msg that the prog aint responding.
Tried to put in up in win 95, 98, 2000 and xp servicepack 2 and run it as admin.
Get the same over and over.

well.. if your determined to find out - have a look at the application event log - it means control panel/admin tools/event viewer... I can't say where to look since this is new to me. It should point at what DLL is wrong then you can go from there.

If you are running 64bit you have to make sure that you installed the correct version of VCR. I am pretty sure there is a 64bit version - and I had similar errors before I installed the right version.
