[WoW] Five man for PVE Content

I just moved from 3 boxing to 5 boxing and looking to get a good team going. I'm only interested in PVE, so PVP is of no consideration whatsoever.

My current 3 team is a Priest and Two Warlocks now at level 65. I'm thinking of supplementing that with a Pally Tank and a Mage to round out the 5 man team.

I guess my question is whether that's a good team mix? Will 4 classes be too many to deal with? It seems a lot of boxers favor only have 2 classes or at the most 3. Is that more of a PVP consideration rather than for PVE?

What class mix have others found to be successful in PVE content ... particularly heroics?

pally tanking is very easy so you can focus on dmg and healing for the pally.

problem is with mobs which drain mana or caster mobs because lots of the aggro is generated when the mob hits the paladin and the attack is blocked by holy shield.

Thanks for the advice on tanks. I've seen other posts to the effect that Pally's seem to take less attention for tanking, or at least less than warriors.

I ran a Warrior/Mage/Priest combo for a while and didn't like micro-management needed for the warrior, though I seldom ever had to worry about losing aggro. Then again that was 3-boxing and I couldn't get very far in instances unless I was overpowered for it.

With 5 accounts now I'd like to finish a few instances or at least do a few of the bosses in the really hard ones.

Has anyone had any success running 5 different classes for PVE content?

I have just started multiboxing myself and I decided to go with a palli/4 priests.

I am hoping that the healing from vampiric embrace will be enough to keep him healed. If not I can always pop out and heal him manually with one of the priests, but it would be tough to micro manage. I will also have vamperic touch to give us enough mana to keep going through the long fights (and they will be long since 4 shadow priests aren't going to be the best dps).

Problem is going to be the agro the shadow priests will generate, they might have to slow down their healing/dmg, but if they slow down then the pallie may not have enough healing.

Still won't know till I try it, im only up to lvl 19 right now. I started going through rfc middle teens and while it was possible, it was pretty tough. I relied on renews exclusivly for healing and against 2 mobs it was enough, with 3 it was pretty boreder-line, the renews either were or wasin't enough healing. Against 4 mobs it was not enough healing, but between the renews and shielding and the ability to take out a mob real fast, it was doable.

I would start the fight be throwing renews on my pallie then run in (since he does not currently have any kind of range attack) so they all attack him first. Once they start attacking him he starts generating agro because of his aura which does dmg against those who hit him. Once he had the others he wouldint lose agro to the renew healing he had on him the whole time. Then I would focus fire one at a time till they were dead. Wands can do an amazing amount of dmg when there are 4 of them going at once.

I can't wait to get vamperic embrace because then I can truly start to see how well this is going to work, but it really comes down to not having any crowd control (maybe mindcontrol?). I am hoping dots/vamperic embrace on each mob that is attacking the pallie will be enough healing to keep him up. If he starts to run low on health I can throw a mind blast in but I am thinking shadow word: pain/mind flay/vamperic touch will be my three most used shadow priest spells while in instances.

I would copy characters into the public test realm but they have not been availble since I started multiboxing, would be an awesome way to try out different combinations of characters.

What I would personally do is write a couple of "heal bomb" macros...

set focus to pally

4x rewew target=focus
4x "fast heal" (whatever its called on a priest, I don't remember) target=focus

4x SW:P target=focustarget

With 4x SW:Ps ticking away, you'll be free to do 4x quick heals on the pally (=1 really big fast heal) all the time, while the renews assist at the same time.

One thing to keep in mind is that if your using renews then you can't be in shadow form, so while you will gain the healing from renew, you will lose 25% of the healing from vamperic embrace since you lost 25% of your damage output.

If however, you had ONE priest set to drop out of shadowform and throw up normal heals, that would probably be the way to go.

If you have vamperic touch up though it may be possible to drop out of shadow form and back in for renews since you would have extra mana. man I wish i was 70 already so I can actually try this instead of speculating.
