Ellay, a question for your choice of meta

Why do you use 12dmg and runspeed meta on your helmet?

Isnt Chaotic skyfire diamond (crit rating and 3% more crit dmg) a far better choice for meta? Wouldnt it increase dmg on NS/EM/CL alot, or am I missing something?

Ya ya I'm working on it, I hate gemming blue gems to get it though :) but I'll be switching to this gem soon enough :)

there is also a meta from the bashir landing event (simple for a boxer)that is 12 spell damage and 5% stun resist, could be nice...

I was completely puzzled by that also.

I went with the +3% crit increase because wasting my kill combo on someone that gets by with just a sliver of life left is usually the end of my team now since I've moved up in ratings. (peaked at 1740)



Since we're asking ellay questions, I saw in another thread where you talked about only using the PVP trinket on your main, and then in another more recent thread you backed up using the pvp trinket in your kill combo for all your toons. Is this an equipment change that you make in higher brackets that have more disciplined CC? I can't seems to get over a hump in the early 1700's. Teams that destroy me now are using CC heavily while at the same time putting out incredible DPS, I think the trinkets in my kill combo would be invaluable, but I'm still running into other comps where the trinket would be worthless.

I haven't saved up enough points to get the pvp trinkets. I think i'll fill out the rest of my gear first. (just missing vindicator's band of dominance and guardians sabatons)

I was thinking about what ellie said about adding in the trinkets aswell.. And i dont know how often it wouls actulay trinket out of a CC at that moment, but atleast we would add 45 resilions to all toons.

well its 45 resilience vs. some static spell dmg + spell dmg upon usage (in case u have the icon from badges). I hope i can work it out with only the trinket on the main.

back on topic, i followed Ellay choice speacially because it was so easy to get those meta.
Will u guys put boars speed enchant instead ? or just 12 sta ?

boar's speed all the way. I feel it's essential in PVP.

If you crit for about 3500, 3% on each of your toons would mean 420 ekstra dmg on your em/ns/cl just from this meta. So I think its worth the tradeoff from gemming some blue gems. I am using two glowing shadowsong Amethyst in my gear (6 spelldmg/7stam) . This means that I am only sacrificing 12 dmg to get the 3% crit boost. Personally I think its a better tradeoff.

Ya, I've consumed all of my gold sadly :) I had over 25k at one point not too long ago. So I need to farm and get this going ;p

As for the PvP trinket deal, it's always adapting and evolving to opponents. I ran into a really well played Euro Comp last week and lost a couple games, so I just reviewed everything that had happened and my point of failure -there was certain areas to improve on and one of them was to remove all the CC on my characters when they use NS. That way it was guaranteed to go through and potentially knock out the target I had selected.

Overall it isn't really needed for every opponent but to be well rounded it's huge. Though sacrificing 43 spell damage base + 150 from the on use is pretty big, I'm not sure if I am going to keep it on or not.

As for goldfarming:

I usally clear karazhan each week and oftwen ZA once or twice each week. This leaves me with about 200 badges each week that I dont need. In other words I can buy epic gems for them and sell for maybe 3-4k gold each week :)

Raiding is fun, but remember to respec ToW when you do. Things go extremly much faster and easyer when you do. With your gear its not really needed for karazhan I think, but will save you tons of time.
If you are going in ZA, you will need ToW to have high enough dps/mana efficiency. The 500g respec to ToW and back to NS is totally worth it if you are going to do some raid instance farming.

Anther bonus of raiding:

The dps trinket from Hex Lord in ZA is insanely good for multiboxing shammys in Arena. I am clearing ZA hoping to get it on every toon. So far I have taken hexlord about 7-8 times but no luck yet. (about 11% droprate) However I've gotten 4x of the Voodoo gnomes trinkets :P
