Melee squad help
Hi,
So I've had a play around with the standard caster groups, but wanted to try a non-caster squad, but I'm a little stuck on how to do this. (Prot pala, hunter, rogue, warrior, resto shaman)
Do you just let them attack on auto-attack, and only really control tank and healer? Or would you pick the two highest damage melee attacks and just spam those? With casters it's easier due to them all having a ranged attack so just press one button, but with multiple attacks/ranges need a little help please.
Thanks Lily

if you search the forums there's already a few topics on this...
I do it the messy way....
/startattack
/f focus
^-- that's my friend... although it's turned into this monstrosity...
I'm using two buttons:
Code:
/cleartarget [noharm]
/cleartarget [dead]
/startattack [target=focustarget,harm,nodead] [target=target,harm,nodead]
/follow focus
/stopmacro [harm,nodead]
/cleartarget
/startattack
But alas, this is still a bit buggy if I've recently changed targets, or my characters just randomly decide to hate me...
So I have this:
Code:
/cleartarget
/startattack

Ok. So just focused auto attack.

My shammies melee quite a bit. I have my alts follow me, I use /startattack on them as part of the pull. I have the 4 alts pull together, so the mob walks right up to them, and then I have all 5 chars attack. The mob is within melee range of everyone. So maybe just have one of the alts pull, so the mobs go near him and then it will be by your main by default. On my mixed group (warrior, warlock, hunter, priest), I either charge with my warrior or use his throw. Both work, depending on trying to get mobs to me (with a pally main, shammy main, rogue main, etc) or whether I want the mobs away from everyone. Hope that helps. Good luck.

I'd love to hear how this goes.
I see the boring nature of always caster/ranged groups with the exception of whoever you're having tank. However that setup leaves warriors out almost all the time due to their tanking mechanisms requiring hands on TLC and rogues are almost completely out. Death knights might work decent for tanks but I haven't researched that at all. Would be neat to see this work well without a ton of micro management and characters standing around doing nothing.
Videos maybe?

I've got some vids of my enhancement shammies on there (I leveled melee up through about 53). It isn't as difficult as you might imagine in PVE. PVP is a wholly different story. :P
