Has anyone figured out a way to have enemy castbars show up on name plates even when you haven't targeted the mob. It might just be me, but it's completely useless for me to have enemy cast bars on the nameplates, if I have to target the mob to see them.
And honestly, couldn't blizzard at least have given nameplates 30 or 40 yards? At least in range of casting? Ridiculous.

Afaik it's not possible to see the castbar of a player not in your group and not targeted.
You can only see the castbar of someone in your party, or who is your target, or your focus.
I agree it can be annoying with the limited range on the nameplates sometimes, but other times, even with the current range you get so many that they fill your screen, with a larger range you'd have that problem all the time and not just when all the mobs are trying to melee you.
