Zolo Boosting Nerfed?

I Zolo boosted for the first time on 28 Jul 2008. It was very successful. I had Mijan healing Zolo, 10 white shields, 4 repair bots, and hours to burn. I got my guys from 35 to 47. They were getting around 55 exp per skeleton.

On 29 Jul 2008 I am now getting 2 exp per skeleton.

Am I doing something wrong here or did they nerf it?

Sounds like a nerf. I don't have anyone under level 58 to try it out and confirm for you or I would.

Man, I zolo 1 time and they nerf it. You can all blame me I guess. =(

I don't even know what to do now lol. I liked the whole SM Cath/Armory thing. Run in aggro everything pop concecrate and colossus and be done. Is there anywhere else I can do that? Maybe ST with those dragons.

Oh well, guess I'll check out BRD Lyceum and see if it's worth it.

Its not really stupid, its something we knew of it was gonna get fixed, and with all the posts explaining how it works, we only exposed it more signing our own "demise" regarding this trick :)

Same with the paladin / mage boosting.

Sure it sucks but he its not weird :p

That being said 4,5 hours till downtime.

Argh. I did this with my shaman group for the first time last night as well. Just jumped in today to give it another go and 2xp per skeleton. Grrrr.

Did it yesterday with RAF bonus its insane. All done now tho ;)
So for EU people you can still farm Zolo!
It's up to you if you wanne do it yes or no ofc :)
My self i don't see it as an exploit at all. It's in the game and everyone is able to do it.
If its a bug its up to Blizzard to remove it asap.

Exploit often. - I hate that word though but you get the point."Creative use of game mechanics" is preferred. :DJust like to point out that the word "Exploit ('http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/exploit') " is NOT necesscarily a bad thing. It is much more commonly used to described bad or unfair exploits but the word exploit more or less means to take full advantage of an irregular oppurtinity.

Ever played a warlock pre bc and fear bombed while the dots slowly ate away at them because you knew that the class had no way to break the fear and you could easily kill them that way? Guess what, that's called an "Exploit". You're exploiting a weakness in certain classes/specs/scenarios for your own gain.

Ever kill a player who was obviously AFK? You are taking advantage, or exploiting, an irregular oppurtunity.

Ever use a Paladin to boost AT ALL? Guess what you're exploiting! Not all classes are able to boost and none of them can boost as effieciently as a paladin. You're exploiting an unique scenario that only a VERY select few classes/specs can take advantage of.

Ever kill a lowbie or a player that was clearly less geared than you that you knew didn't stand a snowball's chance in hell or beating you? You guessed, You're exploiting or taking advantage of an unique situation.

-HOWEVER-

Even if an exploit is not consider to be a unfair/selfish/harmful to others, it doesn't mean that Blizzard won't change things that they didn't intend to happen in the first place.

IMHO Blizzard didn't nerf the Zolo boosting trick because they considered it a malicous unfair exploit that ruined the gameplay for others, which is in fact part of what they consider a bannable exploit, but because it simply wasn't what they wanted out of the Zolo encounter. There have been tons of things that have changed in this game that wasn't consider an "unfair exploit" in their eyes, but that has been changed because it was either never what they intentionally meant to have happen or that they eventually decided they didn't want to have happen.
