View Full Version : Rolled 5 Tauren Druids - I'm sick!

I have to admit...WoW is an absolutely perfect game for people like me who are obsessive/compulsive (I don't have OCD btw). When I think about something like rolling a new class I pretty much can't seem to stop thinking about it. So this morning I setup 5 Druids and got the macros setup before the server reboot. I imagine I'll now play these up until 20 and see how they do. I have this strange feeling that I may never ever get to level 70 while boxing. But who knows. I'm having a freaking blast with boxing though so I guess that is what is important!

Next on my list is a team of rogues! I can see this to be just a totally fun gank crew. Stealth into an Alliance city and randomly gank NPCs and back to stealth again. Sounds like fun.

So, I know there are some obvious boxers that are alt-aholics (Vyndree copyrighted this term I think) but who else is in the same boat as me? Can't seem to focus on one class and just roll new ones so often it is hard to make progress towards 70?

*raises hand*.

Hi, my name is "Otlecs", and I'm an altoholic.

I've started 11 teams over the past 18 months or so, and only got TWO of those teams to 70!

Those that are at 70 are sitting around in their levelling gear - I've done nothing of any real substance with them at all since hitting 70. Not even the rep grinds.

The reason is because I keep thinking of other teams to try. I avoided the ubiquitous shammy team for the longest time, but finally caved in a few weeks ago because they're the ultimate do-anything group.

I'm determined to get them to 70, but in the high 40's I already find my mind wandering to other things. Five hunters... five Druids... more mages... my disc priest team... so much to do!!

You mean you haven't done 5 Warlocks yet???

Quit mentioning that, it isn't fair. I am trying to focus on my hunters (50) and shammies (48). I SOOO would have done warlocks if I hadn't been scared that they are clothies. But my hunters show that I don't even have to take much hits at all, so even drain life would be enough. I have to hold out long enough to get 5 DK's. That will rock, cause soooo many new things to learn. Totally sucking for 1 month will be worth it when I finally make it out of the starting area, lol.

Hello,

I'm a former alt-oholic. When I was a single boxer I tried nearly everything but now I found what I was looking for!

First thing through my head: Sounds like me. ;)

I recommend at least getting catform and playing for a while before giving up on druids. They suxxor to play pre-20 (imo), but apparently pick up after catform.

That being said... my 5 druids have been sitting at level 19 for half a year. >.<

So, I know there are some obvious boxers that are alt-aholics (Vyndree copyrighted this term I think) but who else is in the same boat as me?

hehehe. Called me out, hmm?

I'm thinking of doing some more mixed-groups. Single classes are fun (esp since you can knock out the level 10/20/30 class quests all together) but there is something to be said about setting up macros for multi-class groups. Very fun.

I am an altoholic.

Hunter x3, Priest x2, Warlock x2, Shaman x5, Mage x2, Pally, Rogue x2, Warrior, Druid x3

only 1 70 :(

i just cant stop coming up with more combinations. I played since beta, and usually end up playing about a year with each expansion. Somewhere close to my normal burnout of waiting for Wrath to come out, I ran into a forum post that linked here. Started reading, and immiedately went out and bought x4 more copies of wow, booted up both my alts systems, bought a bunch of RAM, and freaked all my friends out. They all think im nutz for multi-boxing, but something about this community, the style of play, the uniqueness of it, just is incredible. It revived the game in so many ways. And stronger then wrath and BC did, I keep thinking of ways i can take instances, tackle problems, macros, different setups, voice commanding my secondary systems, tweaking keyclone, .... just so much. But for whatever reason i cant seem to finish my alts, I keep making more... eventually ill get them to 70. But playing with some of the low lvl content, as it was intented to be run, reminds me of when wow released, i get to enjoy all the instances again, but at a greater challenge because i am by myself. I want to eventually join the Arena... and learn all that is tied into that. I have popped into a couple low lvl PVP battlegrounds, besides having to ignore chat,..... it was just incredible.....

by the way, the maker of keyclone was so impressive, reading his posts, and his support of the product is why i bought it on multiple comps right away. You guys have a great community. I actually sit at work and read forum posts on this site, its just nice to share this passion with so many people.

I feel for you and the alt problem, there is just soo much to explore when the game is new again... 8)

nu uh!! 8)

I coined that phrase back in 2001 when I went overboard with Asheron's Call and had 3 accounts FILLED with alts that I couldn't decide whom to play as my main lol. (Multiboxing didn't even occur to me as a thought back then... tsk!) I just told people I was an alt-aholic when asked why I had so many hehe.

Deadly1,

You've pretty well summed up my experiences when I first began multiboxing.

To be honest, the only thing that stops me, as a long time altaholic from making endless 5-character groups, is the amount of fun I'm having now that my Shaman team is 70.

I got my Epic Flyers yesterday (will post a bragshot in the screenies forum tonight sometime) and it's been a blast.

I must say though, I'm definitely rolling 5 DK's on WotLK.

70s:
1 Pally
1 Mage
2 Locks
4 Shaman
1 Rogue
1 Priest
1 Warrior
1 Hunter
1 Druid

Just hit 64 today:
1 Pally
1 Mage
2 Locks
1 Priest

When my group of 64s hits 70, that'll be 18 of em. Plenty to choose from for 10-manning, if I ever bite the bullet.

I guess I'm fairly disciplined, because the only other toons I have on my accounts are 1 level 10 mage, 1 level 2 bank alt (got enough exp from discovering zones while running to IF to get to level 2), and tons of level 1s that are only name holders. When I start a crew, I'm getting them to 70 by golly!!

Got them to level 14 so far and looking forward to 20. Can't wait to get the cat/prowl! I imagine this will make it a lot easier to get gear for my droods. Sneaking past trash mobs to hit the boss that has my pretty blue item.

And Vyndree, why do you have druids sitting dormant at level 19?! I don't think I could have resisted getting them to the next level. You weren't afraid you might get hooked on them were you? :)

I hope to get to 20 this weekend and maybe get my voice commander back out. These druids have way too many abilities for me to keep up with pushing buttons.

My alliance toons:
70 rogue
70 druid
70 warlock
70 mage
70 war
70 paladin
5x 70 shaman
70 hunter
70 priest
Most of my alliance 70s are in full season 2 I stopped playing alliance around the 2nd week of season 3.

Magtheridon Horde Toons:
5x 70 shaman
5x 22 hunter
4xLock 1x priest 15
1xpal 1xpriest 3xmage 28

I had alt-itis as a single boxer, but I 2 boxed my rogue/druid since I started playing wow. My Alt-itis episodes turned into 3boxing 4 boxing and 5 boxing... Did pve 5 boxing for awhile, but once I saw the viability of 5x sham in pvp I was over pve boxing.

I realized at level 19 that one of them had an off-shade skin color compared to the others. It's bothered me ever since. ;)

That and the theorycraft on fear recovery for 5 druids was doom and gloom.
