Heath Ledger's best role that I have seen. Too bad he's gone. Felt the movie was more about the Joker than about Batman but maybe that is because HL outshone the rest of the cast. Still movie kicked ass and I hardly noticed the 2.5 hours ish.

Though, I have to ask, is it bad that about 3/4s of the way through the movie both Fleecy and I looked for the progress bar to see how far through the movie was...? :whistling:

Movie of the decade. Heath as "The Joker" was one of the best performances ive seen since we first met Jonny Depp as "Capt Jack Sparrow".
Its Batman the way its supposed to be. Dark, gritty, and riddled with crime. 10/10

I didnt think the movie itself was great. Given the cast they had, aside the late Mr Ledger and Christian Bale, I think everyone in that film flopped. Aaron Eckhart was a *superb* Harvey Dent, although I thought his performance went *really* downhill after the "twoface" transformation. Maggie Gygganhall was disapointing, there wasn't enough focus on her at all in my oppinion. Micheal Caine was 'meh' as Alfred. As for "Lucius Fox" I think it was a rubbish roll and only Morgan Freeman's talent stopped that character from being totally disapointing.

Overall, I wasn't hugely impressed with the film, but I think we have a real believable Batman now and I hope Christian Bale gets given the roll for the next film.

I'll start with what I didn't like, because that list is much shorter.

1) ZERO chemistry between Rachel and Harvey. So his freakout when she bit it was about as sincere and convincing as Anakin->Vader's "nooooooooooooooo."

2) Since when is Two-Face the Joker's bitch?

3)Gotham looked too much like happy springtime in NYC. Bruce Wayne prancing around saving lives in a Lambrogini...

4) Since when does the hero not save the broad in distress? Rachel ain't Gwen Stacy.

5) Christian Bale's MAN-VOICE in costume. (continuation of problem from the old movie)

What went right:

"All I want... is my phone call", "I'm gonna show you a magic trick", "Seems like you and I are destined to do this forever", "Do you know how I got these scars?"

Joker's use of the media as a weapon, Joker planning 12 moves ahead(Despite his speech about "Do I look like man who makes plans, Harvey?"), the amazing batman/joker dynamic.

DEEBO BROWN's role of a lifetime (the prisoner who threw the detonator off the boat)

Oh there was a lot more, but I have to go to lunch. Great movie, even all the way at one end of the 2nd row where I had to sit.

absolutely loved it :) although I fully agree with some of the points mentioned :)

I have to admit I never rly watched batman after the one with the penguin.. that one disappointed me soo much I couldn't be arsed with the hype..

So this was refreshing :) even though it was meant to appear dark! :P

Batman voice nearly got me kicked out of the cinema when I first heard it tho :P cracked up big time!

EDIT: they should have just added a line...

Lucius Fox: We managed to introduce a sound filter into your mask, so you don't have to talk like a muppet!

and then for comedy value, have it malfunction and make him sound like a chipmunk after he gets hit a couple of times

It was okay. I was starting to wonder when it would end though, it dragged on for me. Heath Ledger was frickin awesome.
