I have been honor capped for some time now, and have started picking resto gear. sitting on 4-5 pieces (+ my full elemental gear) atm and still have enough honor to buy a bit more.

I was thinking to try resto some time just for the fun of indestructable shamans :P

Anyone have any idea if this actually can work in some BG's and/or in arenas other than just annoy the hell out of your opponents? (that beeing my goal, but actually having a winchance would be good too)

I stood outside balinda chainhealing myself for about 3 minutes. While doing this i was healing everyone around me and when they got the idea i had about 15 people standing on top of me killing the million allies that kept spawning at SH. It was very amusing... Although that said, i think i'd slit my throat if i played 5 resto shaman ;D

I tried Triple Resto in 3v3 using DPS gear, it works but.. was not my style.

Is your burst as resto high enough to take down, lets say, two healers?

I was not really aiming for this as something permanent, just to try out some different fun to annoy allys in either a 5v5 arena or in BG's :)

I'm a BG-addict and find pvp much too fun, so I just need something to spend all my honor on :P So now I have started collecting resto gear and soon done with that. Wont be long before I collect enhancement gear, but I hightly doubt I will ever use that :P

I too am curious, what spec did you try and what kind of tactics did you attempt etc.

It wasn't for that long of a duration. I went 20/0/41, and I had quite a bit of an issue trying to drop players with double healers. On some it wasn't too bad but others forget about it. My survivability was better, but I would end up going through half my mana pool before I could attempt to be offensive, just not enjoyable and leaves very little room to put the other team on defensive.

In 2v2 I've done Resto-Shaman and Resto-Druid and we hit 1650 the second week in s4 with quite sub-par gear.
Upside: Usually you eventuall win and you can beat almost every comp out there
Downside: Games are often over 20 - 30 minutes, and if you lose; well it REALLY sucks.

This was just in 2's I'm not sure how 5's would work, I'd imagine mana burn would be your bane.

Well with mana-tide, the ability to restealth and drink, good cc chains with very short cd's, innervate and the general toughness of Druid and Shaman healers in a 2v2 setting both being healing spec'd the idea was to run them oom then execute a slow but precise killing sequence.....and it usually worked. Funny how double dps could take us if we messed up once or twice because of incredible burst, but healer/dps teams NEVER had a chance.
