5 Boxing with a purpose...what do you think of this idea?

What I loved about the Zins is that he had a goal from the get go, PVP king of 5 box. And he did it!

So, I thought, if I'm going to do this then I had better have a blast in the process, so, let me know what you think and what suggestions you have...


The main goal is to PVE all 5mans (pre BC, BC, wotlk, herioc) with a tank,3dps,healer...those so much I want to see and havent yet!
The secondary goal is to fraps the entire experience, mainly the instances but anything else entertaining that comes up. Also, share that experience in the form of a well put together blog.
So, to keep it entertaining, add in the machima and give each of my 5 characters a personality throughout the fraped experience. This of course would require me to script out scenarios from the get go.
An example would be one of the 5 have a trait of being scared of everything and running away from a boss encounter and the others cracking jokes to bring him back (this would of course be before I start the pull). Anything for a laugh really.
Also, I was thinking of a pally (male), 3 mages (2 female, 1 male) and a preist (female) all blood elfs. I can have myself and my wife and two kids do voice overs for each toon/personality and be consistant with the characters through the entire process, and maybe do some character development in the process, sorta like writing a book.

Obviously this is a lot of work, I have video editing skills, been a geek all my life, and make a living as a software developer.

Anyway, what suggestions do you have for keeping this fun and entertaining?

I started a video guide for heroics, but RL has been crazy and it takes a lot of work editing all those videos etc. If you set a goal I guess it's cool and all, but I just play for fun. The heroic project started as something to do for fun, and I'm determined to finish it when I get some free time.

I don't know about WOTLK but in TBC most the 5man heroics are a million times easier with a 5 dps setup, but I've seen videos of 1 tank 3 dps 1 healer doing almost everything so I'm not bashing you. After WOTLK though who knows they are adding some insane talents for everyone so maybe the 3dps/tank/healer teams will be more viable in terms of multi-boxing, but the insane DPS talents may make 5 dps even more viable over the 3dps setup.

PVE multi-boxing gets old quick IMO, it can be fun but soloing 5mans can only last for so long. I've never raided multi-boxing other than 2boxing a healer once or twice I think that maybe my next direction for multi-boxing is 5 boxing in Kara/ZA with 5 other people, then maybe moving into the 25man content. Right now though, I'm content with pvp and altidis.

I leveled an Alliance group of shamans to 70 and was like man I wish I had made a video experience from 1 - 70.
Then I rolled my Horde group and started making videos from day 1, about 20mins into day 1 I was like ok no one will want to watch this. So I was like I will make instance only videos, again every video had been done and it slowed down my leveling making videos. So I was like ok I'll make videos at 70 with some pvp / instances / heroics whatever. If you got the time more power to you, but I feel that with videos/blogs of everything you spend more time talking about playing/showing your stuff than playing. That's what put me off by it, but now I kind wish I had done a video blog or something.

Right now though, I'm content with pvp and altidis.There ya go, so with what i'm doing, maiking sure I join a good server/guild of other boxers then stuff like that would be possible. Hell, even a 25 man with 5x5 boxers would be cool to run. And of course this would all be part of the video segment. I could have them all come back as undead, same characters but the pally becomes a warr, the 3 mages become shammys, and the priest becomes a druid....or something. Anyway, the jist of the idea is to tell a story, see PVE content I never have before, and to 5 box becuase well...why else do we 5 box, to have fun right!

I think if you tried to fraps every boss dying at the end of every instance that would be a cool montage. Kind of a time lapse progression.

One with the machinima, and another with super fast speed of the entire instance and only slowing down for the bosses, and maybe 1 more video with just the boss's. Might want to do that anyway incase my machinima sucks and isnt entertaining, however, I've got some great ideas to make it entertaining.
