Hi there,

I am running two clients on a 1680x1050 scrren. At the moment I use a resolution of 840x1050 per client, but that is a rather odd aspect ratio. Thats bad because on the one hand the in game UI scaling doesnt work and on the other some UI gets cut off at the side (for example enchanting is pretty annoying, because I cant open the enchanting ui and the char/bag ui at the same time).
So: What do you think is the best resolution-solution© for the given scenario?

768x1024 isnt bad for split screen.

Thoigh, If it were myself I'd just run both at 1680x1050 and set a hotkey to switch between them.

you are running 2 wows... on a screen at a res of 1680x1050 ?

the absolutely best solution would be to rotate it 90 degrees, set your video card to portrait mode, and do a horizontal split in maximizer. at that point... each wow would be running at 1050x840, which would be just about perfect

look closely at the wide screen monitors here:

Sweet. 90 degree turn.

Ok, this topic is now about Budweiser.

yes, rotate and run at 1050x840.
If you're a stickler for maintaining an exact 4:3 ratio then run at 1024x768. OR do a custom res of 1048x786 to maximize your screen real estate, offset 1 pixel on the left and you even have 108 pixels on the bottom for the task bar (although it's only around 30-50 pixels).

I got myself two monitor mounts (tiltable, height adjustable, very nice) and tada:

And while I was at it, I got myself a shiny new monitor. 24" goodness....
Rotating the monitors was a brilliant idea. Much more playable now and the UI scaling works again. thanks!

I love that setup, nice work. What mount did you get and where did you get it from? I really need to do something like this, i'm tired of the small PiP's on my widescreen. One more monitor and a mount and I can have that setup.

They where about 44€ each. Btw, if someone is looking for a nice 24" monitor: I can really recommend the Iyama ProLite B2403WS. Really nice color/contrast and very affordable (payed 360€ for mine).

Are all those accounts on one computer or multiple comps?

Im running 5 accounts on one computer and am curious if its possible to run 3 separate monitors off of one graphics card. Im using a single 8800GT, which has dual outputs. Is it possible to split one of the outputs to 2 separate monitors?

Thanks guys

@Narezza ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=User&userID=10172')

it is theoretically possible to run up to 10 monitors off a single windows computer... the problem would be the graphics boards, space, and power consumption

to run 3 monitors, you would only need 2 cards.. one with 2 dvi/vga and the other with at least one output

i run 2 cards (finally!) and could drive 4 screens... and the 1000w power supply would support it... but i only currently have a 24" and a 22" (adding a 3rd would be simple)

i hope that gives some insight (i feel like i rambled a bit.. still happy about my new rig!)

I am actually using 2 computers. I tried it with just one, but it didnt run smoothly all times (as I am a sucker for nice AA and high res). One advantage with using only one computer is that you can use keyclones PiP on all toons...

Omg.. the pictures in this setup have made my jaw drop in awe.... I want I want I want...

Currently just running a single computer, 20" LCD at 1650x1080. Going to have to fool around with some new monitors, new computers, or both to get setups like that when I finally get into boxing.
