Hello I am complete noob when it comes to multi-boxing and need some help.

I just read Xzin's beginner FAQ, but it leaves me with some questions.

: How do I even get started multiboxing?
A: Simple. If you try running two copies of WoW, the game will crash - probably. This trips a lot of people up. The non-technical / slightly inaccurate reason is the game does so because you can't store all of the games information in files that would change from copy to copy (settings, macros, etc). So the simple solution is to copy your ENTIRE WoW directory (all 7.5 gigs or so). Rename it something that makes sense, like World of Warcraft Box 2 and then copy the shortcut to the desktop. Launch it just like you would the other copy. Leave the WoW.exe file alone. You now have two copies of WoW running on a single machine.

So I have made multiple copies and named them "World of Warcraft Box 1", "World of Warcraft Box 2" etc. etc.

My question is this:

Now that I have made the copies, how do I get multiple accounts set up with Blizzard? I thought you could only do this with a fresh install. Please if someone could explain step by step what I do after copying the folder multiple times to actaully make each one a separate account?

The computer I just built is over the top and I need technical advice on how many clients I can run at once separately.

Here are the specs:

QX6850 Extreme Edition Quad at 3.33Ghz
2GB DDR3 at 1333Mhz
8800GTX ULTRA Edition at 660Mhz
Two 150GB 10,000rpm hard drives

Can I run 5 boxes at onceon this machine? I want to run 4 Mages and 1 Healer.

Also can someone tell me what is the best healing/support class to pair with 4 mages?

Should the 5th character be Paladin, Shaman, Priest, or Druid?

Thansk very much for your help and patience!!

- install wow with every patch

- copy the whole wow directory so that you got one wow-directory for each toon

- get keyclone to send every keystroke to every wow session that is running

- start the wow sessions

- configure the gfx details of the sessions. good quality on your main char, worse quality on the other toons

- configure keyclone, setup your macros

- have fun.

if you can run 5 sessions on one machine you'll see but it should work with that hardware setup.

best healer class for 4 mages is a priest.
Shield, Renew (Heal over Time), Flashheal, Greater Heal, Prayer of Healing (Group Heal), Circle of Healing (AOE Heal) and a mass dispell.
Excellent to react on every situation :)

https://signup.worldofwarcraft.com/menu.html

Reach that by going to www.worldofwarcraft.com and clicking account creation. You still need product keys of course.

I suggest making trial accounts first, then upgrading to the full version with your keys. THe moment you add a key to the account, the trial account limitations are off - but you still get the trial gametime tacked on.
