Casting Sequence and Reset Macros

I have read a few things about this but it always seems like people write really descriptive stuff about all the macro items until they get to talking about these two things. They its just the example of how to write it and pow! Up up and out!

Could someone explain in simple terms what the deal with these functions are and how to use them properly.

I am mainly thinking about totems for my 4 man shaman team. Sometimes I get excited in combat when the Sh*t hits the fan and I spam the totem buttons and I waste a ton of mana because Ill cast the same totem 3 times before I realize the totems are out. :cursing:

[edit] The reason why people don't explain the whole macro in detail is because you're supposed to know how to write macros yourself (so you can read and understand the ones of others).
