Since the goals of my 5box on one PC adventure include frapsing the entire thing do you think this is possible with an 8800GTS, AMD Dual Core 3GHZ, 8GB 800mhz Ram on Win Vista?
I was thinking setting affinity to one proc for 4 wow clients and have the installs on one HD (500GB 7200rpm, one of the newer Western Digitals) and having another proc for the main (tank) and fraps all on another of the same HD. However, from what I've heard, its best to fraps to a different HD than that of wich wow is playing from.
I do have the option to buy a new HD dedicated to fraps writes and the quad core AMD but that would cost over $400 and dont have the cash. So, any of you 5 boxers on 1 pc who fraps please advise. I will be doing all the 5mans. Obviously 30fps at a minimum would be needed, and I can deal with the slowdowns in shatt.

Well considering MAJO was able to fraps ALL OF THEM at once AND play. I'm sure you'll find that you will be able to fraps ONE AND play all 5.

lol dude MAJO is a guy, trust me ;), and he does all that on 1 box. 5wow at same time and fraps the entire screen. It can be done therefore what your asking can be done.

This isn't quite the answer you're looking for, but I 5-box on one Mac Pro (8-core 2.8ghz Xeon) and can use the built-in movie capture just fine (I think it's still only built-in on the Mac version). I only capture on the main, not from the clones, and my capture resolution is 960 x 600 at 30fps, works great. Main toon play resolution is most of a 30" monitor (so, something like 2400 x 1400) while the clones are essentially minimized with window sizes set to something like 1024 x 640. I don't know exact window sizes as I set them by hand >.< but those are close.
I did the /console setmaxfps command to limit clones to 20fps, main gets 60 most of the time. Mileage varies greatly while in Shat.
Hope that helps.
