I'm pretty stoked, I took down Arugal and spat on his corpse. ... After he took me down and laughed at all five of my broken little bodies, then said some rather cutting things, then chased my priest out of the instance when he rezzed, and then looked very smug about it all. I think on the whole I still owe him a few hundred thousand more points of damage. The group is 1x prot pally, 1x holy priest, 3x afflic locks (1 imp, 2 succubi), all level 20 but the level 21 tank.

SFK isn't terribly hard these days, I guess. I'd read a bit about the silencing guardsmen and nervously tried to pull them carefully, but realized when I eventually got a few adds in my face that a barrage of three wands still tears stuff up. Often they had a few DoTs on them ticking down by the time the silence came, and it was easy enough to burn them down before the pally needed healing. The only real trouble was the Man himself. I get easily frazzled when mobs don't behave, and Arugal seems to be the first boss that really exploits that, with the worgen transformation and teleportation and general horrifyingly evil evilness.

First try, I charged up the stairs, expecting him to stay put like a good mob and start casting. Alas, he ran at me, so I overshot him and Arugal ended up in the middle of the party. I have to click the taskbar to change clients so individual facing adjustments are a pain, and I avoid doing it. Instead I tried turning the entire party at once and this caused one of the locks to face him -- yay -- but now the priest was looking away and I wasn't sure about the other two locks ... and all this when I could at least have been dotting him up. Lesson learned, DoT first, adjust facing later. Anyway, he took me down swiftly. I had a soulstone up and gave it another try, this time with the imp + 2 voidies, and I also added the priest's dots to my hotkeys (where they'll stay; I thought I was conserving mana by leaving them off, but really I was just lowering my dps. My priest never leaves combat without nearly-full mana anyway). I also tried a more careful creep up the stairs after the voidwalkers made first contact, which helped a lot, at least until he started mucking things up. In the end, the pally and priest both dropped, but savage dotting managed to tear him down even through his tricks and I was again delighted that I chose to go with a lock-heavy team.

I had a blast and am sure I'll keep running it 'til I'm ready for BFD. I imagine the Arugal fight will teach me a lot about party control, and dealing with completely inconsiderate mobs that don't stay glued to the tank in full view of the dps. Anyway, I have four casters who want those robes. :)

On Arugal you dont even need to tank. Just dps with your 3 locks...and the odd smite with the holy priest and then jump over the gap on the left run along and lewt!

I found SFK incredibly easy. Hardest part for my 5 shaman setup was the Felsteeds in the barn.
