Ok I have a wow account that I purchased for my brother who NEVER played it even once, I have ALWAYS played on it, My druid on this account is almost 70 so I am thinking of multi-boxing him with my main wow account which has 5 70's....Now I am scared to post this question to customer service for fear of getting into trouble because I have been playing this account that is under a different name, but am I really breaking their rules if I am the only one that has ever played the account....I need to get the name changed before I will multi-box because I am sure I will get reported...But Do you get in trouble for just asking to get the name changed or what?

You are breaking the ToS if you are using the account and it is not in your name. Go out and buy another account and transfer that guy to it. Make sure the account is in your name and then request a name change for the toon.

Good Luck

I tried, didn't get banned but got sternly warned not to use the account anymore.

So i bought a new account on my own name, and levelled all over.

Previously tho i risked a ban with using a friends mage to boost my 4 new toons. But being in a high profile guild people hardly seemed to report me for some reason. Never had much trouble with it, but tbh i would not do it again myself. Way to big of a risk of getting 100's of days of work ruined.

I think he's talking about a name change for the account holder rather than a character, which is just not possible.
