Hey There,

I hit 25 with my quad team yesterday and I was wondering if I should start instancing now.

So far questing has been pretty simple and I can hit 40 that way eventually.

Should I pickup a 5th and start doing instances?

I pretty much did quests to level 70 a little bit of SM, ZF, and ST on the way up and hit every instance in outlands for quests and I did it in 9-10 days played time... So Quests are a good option.

Quests are probably much faster, but to me instances are more fun - maybe mix in 1 instance run per instance to get the quests knocked out?

Thanks, I'll continue questing then and do some instances if I am bored.

The general consensus is that questing is the fastest way to hit 70. I have decided to do a lot of instances between 35 and 55 in order to build up my chops for the Outland. Obviously hitting 70 is important, but don't discount the value of learning your team's synergies early on. I'm hoping it will mean less wipes later.

I was rolling with my 46 lock/61 mage/60 druid team, they cut through quests like butter leveling the lock, but when I went into ZF, I got my butt kicked sideways on the first two pulls. MUCH different strats and macros were needed, and I also had to pull a few new tricks/talents out of my hat to get it to work - which has made questing even easier. Now I can burn through ZF fairly easily, which is cool. Once I get all the bosses down, I'll move on to ST and Mara, for the gear, rep, and exp from quests - also, now with the Wrath change of Achievements, it might pay to revisit all of the Pre-BC instances for max points - like kill every boss and do every quest from BFD/Deadmines all the way through BRD/Scholo/Strat on Alliance, take the time and hassle of the Onyxia chain, stuff like that. Once more info on it comes out, I can make a list of things to do. :)

Do that. :)

I find that instances are an excellent supplement if I decide to skip collection quests (which I tend to do). I use instancing as a "catch up" if I'm falling behind on quests.

Ewwww... that is a glutton. I do some collection quests (I just did yeti hides in WS), but Shimmering Flats blech. Love that place as a solo, skipped it entierly as a 5-box. Does this mean you'll be gathering pirate hats? hehe

Definately agree on "less wipes later". Outside of instances things die too quickly to build up fine control of your guys so instances really help you tune your playstyle/macros.

Also while questing is kinda the way to go there are more factors. First of all instance quests give massive XP (they were boosted to encourage ppl lvling to run them) as well as give very nice items for their level (less of an issue for boxers). So even if you don't chain run instances hitting up most of them at least once is totally worth it. You get items to DE (you did make one of your guys an enchanter right?), experience using your guys, experience from killing instance mobs and quest experience all in one sitting.

Second,in outland, you can level in instances to save your quests for when you hit 70. While gold is less of an issue with dailies, questing at 70 still gives massive gold/hour. I quested up to lvl 64ish then hit instances to 70. I had enough for my normal flyers and used those to finish quests from Terrokar -> Netherstorm and easily had the gold I needed for epic flyers long before I even got to Netherstorm.

Ever since I can power level with my prot pally, all my alts did not do instances from level 10 to 60.
