View Full Version : [Octopus] Weird Left Mouse botton issue

So I got the whole shebang set up on my two comps, all the way through being able to mouse my mouse focus between then, run stuff on the alternate comp, etc. Pretty sweet.

But I have a weird issue (and a question, actually).

Issue: When I launch the game I am dual boxing (City of Heroes), no matter what I do I can't get my button 1 mouse click to register in the game client on the alt computer. I can use keystrokes, etc, and they register on the other machine if I'm mouse focused over there. And if I minimize the game client I can left click (for example, to open firefox or whatever). I just can't left click in the game client on the alt comp. Any ideas?

Now, question: Is there a way to get "AutoHotKey-like" behavior with Octopus? For example, if I hit shift-1 when I'm on my main PC I might like shift-2 to execute on my alt PC. This is pretty easy with AHK (I just map it to active the other window and execute the chosen keystroke, then return to the main window) but what I don't like about AHK is CoH is oddly a CPU hog when running multiple clients (this isn't a slouch system, seems that CoH isn't exactly efficient though :). Is there a way to do this?

Thank you gurus!!

Mmmm, worse than I thought. I tried a mouselook (using right click) and the alt PC client went apeshit (view spinning all over creation, me trying not to barf, etc). Bummer.

Side note, main comp is Vista x64, alt is Vista x32.

Fixed some of my confusion...I prevented the flying about mouselook problem using the screen lock option.
I also figured out how to get the AHK-like behavior I was looking for. What was confusing me was that I typo'd on the client side and had the .exe name for the window as "CityofHeroes" when it has to be "CityOfHeroes". So I can get keystrokes to work, too.

Still stuck on the damn left click though. I dunno why I can rt-click on the alt PC but not lft-click. :(

put it this way, it does the same thing in game as out of game. If the game don't like it, try the mouse filter driver on the alt PC. That will almost certainly work. Stuff like this has come up about CoH before.
