WoTLK will bring us "Player Achievements"!

Granted this is like stealing an idea from Lord of The Rings Online... but I'm sure LoTRO stole it from someone else anyway heh. I'm excited! This was one feature of LoTRO that I really loved. It was satisfying to go out there and achieve these achievements and see them stack up on your character. I enjoyed the fun I got from it and I'm definitely looking forward to it in the expansion!

This is getting a very mixed reaction judging by forums I´ve read and friends I´ve spoken to. It seems to really polarise people, you either go nuts for it or you hate it it seems.

Personally, I´m made up about it. I got to the point where I would log in and spend more time tile-jumping around Ironforge thinking of something to do when not raiding or not wanting to PvP.

This kind of thing is made for drunken 3am Saturday nonsense farming. I can´t wait.

This could be fun depending on how many there are. If they limit it to the kinda junk that 12-year-olds would call "pro" (/seriousface lol) then bleh. If they do it so you can get titles like "Murloc Exterminator" or "Rogue-bane" or "Rabbit Hunter," it could be lots of fun. :)

I must admit, the achievements in Portal kept me playing well beyond the basic game. Seems like a good idea to me, though it looks like there will be so many that it will be impossible to achieve them all.

This will be huge for me. I made a list of everything I wanted to do in BC, and I've nearly completed it. The cosmetic attention getting stuff is fun.

i dont know. They had something similar in Star Wars Galaxies. It was kinda fun to do once in a while.

I am all up for giving people more choices in game. Grinding BG's/Instances can get a bit tedious.

As long as the benefits provided are purely cosmetic, I can't think of a reason to oppose the idea. For those who love it, great, go have fun. The only argument I can see making against it (and this is lame) goes along the lines of... "the time they spent developing it they could have been working on more important stuff..."

If it creates fun for a lot of folks (even though I'm not one of them), then it's important.
