[WoW] Anyone bothered to level a mage just for travel

I'm working on leveling a priest and 3 warlocks but I really miss having a mage just for portals. I'm thinking that if I need to get my group to a city on another continent and my hearth is in the wrong place, I would just logoff a toon, summon the mage, portal to the city, log the toon back on and summon it to the city. Anyone bothered to level a mage just to do that?

I know that if I'm in an instance I'll have to leave it first since you can't summon a toon into the instance from the outside.

Its a heck of a lot simpler to just set your hearth to Shattrah city, and use the city portals instead.
true dat...
at lvl 26 my team has their HSs to shattrath city :P

I guess if my hearthstone is on cooldown I'll head to the nearest instance and do the leave party trick to force a hearth to Shattrah!
