Hi, I knew of this existance before, though not that it was this accesable.
I am very interested in multiboxing, this is my first post.
I currently posess a single WoW account on EU servers, with a 70 shaman, 70 mage, and 64 warrior.
I am waiting to get paid from my work to be able to purchase another gamecard right now, I`m totally broke atm.

I myself am quite familair with NVIDIA graphics cards, I have a single 8800 GT at the moment.

But I have some questions.

-Is this stuff allowed by blizzard, and are there any rumors/plans about the whole multiboxing ?

-What can my AMD X2 4600+ ( Duo Core processor of 2.4 Ghz ) handle ? In combination with 2 Gb ram , PC 6400 4-4-4-12 (Crucial Ballistix Tracers).
My operating systems are XP 32 bit and Vista 32 bit, XP is way better for gaming though.

*Or do I need multiple systems and control them with a central point.

- I simply cannot afford multiple accounts. ( Atm, nor in the near future- unfortunately ) is there any good private server you can suggest me to atleast try this stuff out ?

I`m planning lots of things atm in real life, mainly I want to buy 2x 9800 GTX , that also means a new power supply, and a new motherboard, and ofcourse a matching CPU - probably the q6600. I also want to buy an LCD/Plasma screen, and I`m busy on another project aswell that costs some money too.

- Would a combination of classes work aswell ? ( Lets say 5 man, tank, healer and 3 dps ) or will that just get way too complicated.

- My internet connection has max download speed of 160kb/sec and upload is at about 30kb/sec, usually it goes mad when I raid and lag comes up. How well will this go ?

I`m really surprised by this whole thing and getting excited :D

Blizzard has repeatedly stated it is approved and no plans are in place to change things. Caveat: they may change at some point (obvious caveat is obvious).

That system should be able to do 3 easily, 4-5 might work but you'll have to experiment to find out.

Private server = NONO. Our forum guidelines strictly prohibit discussion of that subject and the same goes for any other discussion of how to break the game's Terms of Use.

If you can't afford multiple accounts, I might suggest that your hardware plans are a whole hell of a lot further off. :P

Best of luck figuring things out.

If you want totry it out i suggest the awesomeness that is Trial Accounts, they are free, you can have plenty of them and they are 100% legal ;).

IMO if you are looking at 2 9800GTX cards you shouldn't be saying you can't afford the monthly fees.

That said, you don't need much video horsepower to run wow, it's not that graphically intensive. CPU power and RAM is all you need to boost. Your video card will run 2 monitors very well, with either a 4x1 setup for 5 boxing, or whatever you want.

You can try it out free with trial accounts (do the recruit a friend trick) up to at least lvl 20 for 10 days. That should be ample time to see if you computer can handle it, and get some basic macros and groups going. If you decide to continue, buy retail copies of the game ($40 battlechest) and transfer your toons, (if you want to jump right in with your 3 toons). You can also continue to level up your trial toons, if you want to keep em as a group.
