So I have played this game since release and only within the last few months did I discover Multiboxing, and even then I had never seen another multiboxer. Now, everywhere I look , people are boxing shamans. It seems as if multiboxing is becoming just as common a sight as regular playing. Is anyone else disturbed by this? I started boxing because I wanted a challenge and to do something that not many people were doing.

I've noticed it a lot more since I became interested and checked it out on these forums. But I still don't see to many multi boxers. I usually see 1 max at starting areas, but once your into the 20's + I think I see a lot less multi boxers.. This could just be my realm, but my horde realm is Magtheridon :P

Processing power is a lot cheaper than when WoW first came out so it makes sense that more people would be going into this.

Yep, this will eventually become like "buffbots" in DAoC. Only difference is that multiboxing wouldn't be affected by a change in server rule-set unless they made new servers that specifically had no /follow command.

I think it's still uncommon, I've seen only two other multiboxers on my server, both Horde like me. But I haven't seen them around recently.

May just be my server. I'v seen 5xdruids and 5xshaman teams. All 60+ both ally. So far i'm the only horde.

If you're doing it for the "cool" factor then you did it for the wrong reason. The hurdles to overcome entry into boxing are extremely low and it requires no real additional skills.

Now take something like painting which requires skill and technique or breeding fish with prize winning stock which takes years of effort and energy to do it. You can start both but many people never reach the goal they seek even if they are good at doing it.

If you did it for the personal challenge, then does it really matter who else is doing it?

I have only seen 2 other horde teams on Deathwing, and heard of 1 alli team.

I've only every seen two and that was when I had arranged a meet up >.<

not seen a single one in PvP, BGs or arena and I seem to be in one of the most boxer populated battlegroups in the WU >.<

There are two of us on my server. I saw 3 other groups at lower levels and I know at least 2 of them were the same person, but I haven't seen them since. In BGs, I've come across one boxer and the other boxer on my server has seen 2 more. In my opinion, it is and always will be fairly uncommon, it just sticks out when you see one.

I'm a Zergling.... I see them all the time lol.

But.. on my old server, Tanaris, I've only ever seen one and they stopped playing after level 15. I started a druid team there for fun but I'm too focused on my Horde to play my allies.

I believe It's alot more common these days. I'm a new boxer myself (lvl 66 on my mains). Started boxing because i've done everything in this game and needed a new challange.
Been seeing alot of multiboxers in battlegrounds and on my own realm in the last couple of months. Maybe becuase I'm more aware of it now, I don't know.

I multibox so that I can instance by myself. Therefore I don't give a rat's behind if the entire rest of the server is doing the same.

IMO, the biggest difference is that we know what servers everyone is on and tend to roll with our community friends. Which, I think, is a great development. http://www.l00py.net/phpbb/images/smiles/smitten.gif

I do it for the PvP and the instancing.

I've never had enough time to dedicate to being uber equipped in the past so having a group behind me levels the playing field in world pvp.

Ok, it doesn't level it, it slants it my way but what would you expect for 5v1? :D

I haven't seen only but a couple of multi-boxers on my realm, Staghelm. My cousin and I are both multi-boxers and we had another in our guild for quite sometime, but he randomly /gquit and we haven't been able to talk to him since.

I agree that it will probably remain uncommon to see multi-boxers running around everywhere. Not just because it is both challenging and takes a lot of commitment, most people don't like the hefty price tag it comes with. :P

well i used to know 1 person on Blackhand, he was active on this community site which he linked me to before, think his name was Elo?

havent seen him for a long time though, i was lvl 1 on my shaman last time i saw him and now i'm lvl 56 so that might give u an idea (5 boxing from lvl 1-56 goes a lot slower than solo ;)

anyway ya that was the last 5 boxer i saw on blackhand, and since i pretty much only 5 box in instances, and late at night (as i usually get off work at midnight so i start boxing around 1-2 am most nights) i dont really see anyone. i'm sure outlands will be different and maybe i'll get some questions or "WTF HAX!" out there, but as for now i haven't had the "opportunity" to be bothered by the general public about my boxing.

i like it, and kind of want some attention occasionally. it is unique and its fun to show off sometimes. i go to IF to repair/train and have had some people stop and look at me but thats all so far.

I'm on Dalaran and have yet to see another 5 boxer. I know alot of people who dual box, but they primarily do it by having one follow another, and controlling both toons actions independantly (either alt tab, or 2x keyboards/computers).

There is one other boxer (that I know of) on my server. Only seen him once though. I think I'm the only lvl 70 boxer, but when I saw the other he was 60ish so he may be 70 now.

The more I think about it, it's still a "vanishingly small" number. Even on mag, the only time I see other folks is in org/shatt/UC or when we arrange a meeting for questing/ganking help.

It is a much higher number than it used it to be, but it's still small. On Tich and Azuremyst I've seen a surprising number around in the last couple months. It's gotten a lot of press on the forums, people talk about it a lot now, and Blizzard has officially sanctioned it. So it's kind of inevitable really. Also, for various reasons, most of the new groups are identical class/race, so its' more obvious.

I have yet to see another multiboxer on my server (except for my brother who got me into this mess, hehe) or any other server for that matter. Although even if it were fairly common I wouldn't mind the least - could actually be fun pvp'ing against another multiboxer :)

I'm the only 5 boxer on Cenarius that I know of. I've seen a couple of people dual boxing but it was more like alt-tab "carebear" dual boxing, or in other words someone using their (or a guildes) 70 to pwr lvl a new toon.

There are three multiboxers on my server as far as I know.

One dual boxer who has several of the same class and another 5 boxer who has 5 shamans but quit for AoC until WotLK. My 5 are level 26 shammies.

We are all horde.
