View Full Version : Powerlevelling - High level pet kills don't give full xp

So - I respec my warlock to a felguard build, and run him over to tarren mill to join my lowbie shadowpriest.

The shadowpriest tags a green mob - and I wait for it to go grey on my lock -then send in my felguard.

Couple of hits later the mob is dead, and my priest got a grand total of 90xp. (this is including rested bonus).

I target another mob and the shadow priest kills this on his own (no help from the felguard). 300 odd XP.

So it appears that having the pet do the killing doesn't avoid the xp reduction.

Am i missing something - Does there need to be 2-3 lowbies in the group before the xp gets allocated?

I think you need 1-2 more lowbies in your group for that to work, if I remember correctly.

Yes, you need 2 lowbies in the group for that to work.

As an alternative, you can use a high level character in the group and keep him far enough away where he's not getting XP but close enough where he's considered "in the group". It takes some trial and error to figure out the sweet spot but that's an alternative.

2 lowbies work the best, imo.

Brilliant. Thanks for that.

I'll give it a shot later.
